Default WRX Photoshoot

This was my first try at doing a car shoot for a friend, this was with my new Canon EOS Rebel Xs, 18-55 kit lens, and a tripod. Some HDR, some just edited from the RAW's.

Comments always welcome!

Other then a few, I don't understand the composition of most of these pics.

Good start, location is great but I would say inform yourself on composition techniques / rules, editing techniques and always check settings before you head out. It's easy to say but once you've got the hang of it, it will become nature. Keep shooting only way to learn!

the location and ideas were good. I think for a focal point shoot on a car as the object it sure was in the distant background and out of focus in most of the shots.

nice start. perhaps try focusing on getting one great shot.

often my photog will shoot 1000+ photos and we might get one
we're all impressed with. do you "see" the photo before you take it?
maybe a little more planning needed shot-wise.

It might not be the camera. It could be the editing. If you increase contrast, highlights, shadows and things like that, it can cause noise.

I like #11. If it's coming out noisy, try lowering the ISO and use a longer shutter. Also, if the point of the shoot was to capture the architecture of the red bridge, you did a great job. In #3 & 4 especially, the car almost fades into the background. Shooting a light colored car against a light colored background is hard anyway. Keep up the good work though.. takes A LOT of practice

I think that was the problem, my ISO was at 1600 and the shutter speeds were very fast throughout the shoot.

great pics, looks like fun...i would say use that tripod to your advantage... lol if you lower your ISO and use a longer shutter take advantage of that tripod ...make sure you get the right amount of light...should make the pictures WAY better...good job for your first time though!
