Just got my first DSLR, and took a few pics using P mode. Still getting comfortable with shutter priority mode, and aperture priority mode and messing with ISO. I'm practicing. I'd love some constructive criticism.

You know they just announced the T2i right?

Full 1080p Movie recording... and looks to be an all-around significant boost over the T1i... and even encroaching on 7D territory in many aspects.

Photos looks good and decent composition. Is this your first SLR? I also have the T1i and am not regretting it. The T2i is nice but there will always be something better out there. I have only taken one video with it so the biggest upgrade to the T2i for me would be ISO up to (IIRC) 3600 which isn't that important since I shoot using ISO 100-200 99% of the time. I'd rather get everything out of this and when I feel ready I'll move to a FF. Did you also mean the 18-55 for the kit lens? I don't think they have a 15-55.
I hope that's not your room with the F&F poster
. I don't use the 18-55 much now that I have a couple other lenses. If you can afford it, pickup a nifty fifty (50mm f/1.8) and a nift two-fifty (55-250mm f/4-5.6). Very cheap but is the best bang for the buck glass wise imho.
I would also suggest shooting in full M to learn everything quicker (at least it worked for me). If you haven't already, check out POTN (photography on the net) it's been a ton of help and a lot of other members are on there.

I think you shouldn't worry about T2i. If you're not happy with T1i, I doubt T2i will do it for you (if you don't care about video). You need a better lens or body, in such case.
Lovely shots - nothing wrong with using P, Av, Tv, etc. It's the shots that count. The gears or camera mode used, is not relevant - just famous quotes from some of the books I've read (Kelby, Petersen, etc).

I don't think there's anything wrong with them but I'd rather learn what they are before using it. Shutter priority means nothing if you don't know what shutter is. I too used them when I first got it but liked having the knowledge of what they mean. Of course this is assuming the op doesn't know much about photography.
It's kind of like having 3 different suspension settings. Sure you can set it and BAM! it's better. But I'd prefer to know exactly what it changed and how it made the difference to get to the settings it's at.

I've done my research on aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. I understand it but still need practice putting it to use when takin pics. Thanks for the compliments.
