Lightbulb midtx350z's Official Gallery - CC/Advice Welcome!

Well, seeing as to how I've been putting quite a bit of effort into my new hobby, I decided to make a thread to show off my photos. I'll be posting every once in a while.

I'm still trying to find my own style, but feel free to criticize my photos and offer advice. I'm currently shooting with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i/500D with a EF-S 18-55mm kit lens. New lens hopefully coming soon. I just purchased some lighting equipment along with a white seamless, so we'll see what I can come up with.

^ All these were taken about a week after I got my DSLR... It's been a year since then. I will post recent ones soon.

You need some better glass for that camera for sure

Get a tonkia 11-16 for wide angels
Sigma 35mm for your prime lens
And a 75 - 200 canon 2.8

They are expensive but def. Worth it!

Here's a preview of last night's photoshoot... I'll post the finished product as soon as I'm done post processing.

Also... just a little background story on this photoshoot...

Derek and I were driving back to Midland from visiting his parents who live about an hour and a half away. We decided to take a backroad and happened to pass by what looked like an abandoned torn down building.

I marked it on Google Maps so I could get back to it later. The next day, we hit the gym, and start getting ready. We had to get my camera gear out of storage, and by the time we were ready, the sun was already going down. Since we had already gotten ready, and had changes of clothes, we decided to do it either way. I had my flash after all, it didnt matter that it was dark.

Well we get there at about 9:30pm, and it's pretty much pitch black. The last bit of light is just about to disappear... this building is the scariest building we've ever been to. We never were able to figure out what it was. It seemed like it was never finished. The walls were covered with foam. There was a foam cutting machine, and there was no sign of sheetrock or anything indicating that they tried finishing the project. The grass was very high and there were trees growing around and into the building. There was no roof. When you walk in, you can only turn right or left. We didnt manage to check out the right side because of how much tall grass was out there, but on the left side was a large roofless room... with a large square recession on the floor, and lots of pipes coming out of the concrete.

This same room had a wall which had some very large windows (the ones in the first model photo), and that wall was extremely tall (the first phone cam pic). And on the other side of this was another room........ which was on a lower level.

We go creeped the fawk out when we saw this. We never were able to see the stairs but it was extremely weird.

Thanks, Jake! It was my first outdoor shoot using off camera lighting.

Took my Alien Bee B800 but wasn't able to use it since my power cord wasn't long enough... ended up using a Canon Speedlite on an umbrella.
