My friend Jamie (S14 owner) and I have a friend who is just moving away from Texas to go back to Arizona for school. This particular friend also happens to have an R32 Skyline GTS-T. As part of his last week here we went out, drifted a plenty (Editing together a video right now) and took lots of pictures. One of the nights it was just us and the city of San Antonio. Luckily I still had my camera and tripod in the car, so here's what went down. Click the picture for full hi-res image.
We started off our night with an extremely expensive meal at Sushi Zushi, mainly for me because I stupidly offered to pay for the rolls for everybody. Bad decision.

After a nice little photo op with the elegant purple lights gleaming off the Sushi Zushi sign, we went to the place where all epic car journeys: gas station. Unfortunately we couldn't find anyplace with a 7-11, which our friend who owns the Skyline insisted is "uber jdm." This would work.

It was time to set off, so I hopped in my turbo'd Mini Cooper camera-mobile and led the way, even though I didn't even know where this photo spot was. There are two bridges on the outskirts of downtown San Antonio that has LSD-trip inducing lights that change color. We were trying to get to the one that has a car park next to it, but predictably couldn't find it. This one would do.

At first it was a lighting disaster, but with a couple angle changes ended up being brilliant. It was incredibly fun just sitting around seeing how the tunnels colors were effecting the pictures. We were like a group of little girls waiting for a Justin Bieber concert every time the shutter isolated that moment in time. I didn't have to do anything to the resulting pictures except clear the license plates, which is always a success in my book!

While I was busy directing my friend Jonathan on where to move the camera-mobile, Jamie decided to create some mayhem and fiddle around on my camera. It actually came out pretty well!

Now it's my turn.

It really was an amazing sight seeing these two cars just chilling as the tunnels lights flooded them with a very manly rainbow of different colors. I can't wait to photograph a pearl white car at this bridge.

We obeyed. They're not parking, they're modeling!

After feeling like we milked the tunnel for all it's worth, we decided to take a cruise through downtown. I instructed Jonathan to take the wheel of the turbo-mini-camera-mobile and bravely took a seat in the passenger seat to attempt to get some rolling shots. Which proved very difficult because the only stability system I had was my tripod, which with the camera on it is about an inch shorter than the height of the cabin. At least it would be entertaining to the others to see me scrambling around inside the passenger seat to try and snap a pic.

First, we were instructed by a drunk person to race from the lights after he assured us there were no cops around. Jamie answered with a little tire squeal and a flame or two sputtering out of the lone pipe protruding from the bottom of his rear bumper. And a bit of the same from the R32. But other than that, it was a very civilized roll through downtown.

The best part was hearing the roars of these two cars reverberating off of the (compared to other cities buildings small, but hey this is San Antonio) cities tall walls of glass and steel. Both Jamie and the R32 decided to surprise me by revving at passing drunkards, which proved to be hilarious. I have a rule when it comes to stuff like that: You can't do it if you can't back it up. Well, at first the drunkards would laugh and start to taunt, then a large explosion of flames would erupt from both of the cars. Yeah, that's where my rule of "when you can laugh and when you can't" kicks in.
After that, it was time for a pleasant cruise back up the highway to our part of town. The orgy of orgasmic noise coming from both the cars was a good excuse for me to roll the window down and stick my head out to attempt to snap a pic.

Now it was around 3AM or 4AM, and finally time to head back home. Our resident Skyline buff insisted on McDonalds, a place that he and I have good history of on the grounds that I video taped him going through the drive-thru in reverse in his Skyline a couple days before. That'll be in the video I'm working on.

So that concluded our night. We all drove back to our respective houses to crash out to keep going with some filming and picture taking the next day. One of the best nights I've had out here in San Antonio since I moved here a year or two ago. This is what being a car lover is all about.

Funny thing is both of them want to (and are looking to) change their wheels. The G wheels on the R32 actually look a lot better in person than in the pics, but yeah both could use other ones.
