Cosworth Plenum FI/NA: Pics Inside!
^^WOW...that's a pretty big setback. What's funny though is that they already know the cost of the things, they just have to decide if they are going to make them affordable or if they are going to rape us.

I will have the pricing announcement in about 3-4 more weeks. There are a few elements of the plenum, such as the carbon fiber caps, where pricing is very fluid. They are trying hard to make the plenum as affordable as possible. I think most will be pleased with the price, once it's announced. I appologize for the delay, but this is also the reason we didnt take any actual CC deposits. We have all your orders here on file.
Thanks again for your patience.

Real world testing will come later, once the plenums are available.

what he means by real world testing is peeps like us that will get them and have our own dynos when they are available to the public... IMO its worth the wait, my rev/up is designed to produce power high end; i was soooo close to getting the mrev but the fact that it robbed 2.5 @ 62 hun rpm deterred me... its worth the wait n money
I just hope i can get it on my car before the stillen meet on 05/12

By real world testing, I am refering to indepedent folks trying out the plenum and posting their results.
I was at the supra nationals yesterday and two guys wearing Cosworth shirts, showed up(one of the people I knew, worked at a local shop here in Houston last year). Anyways, I asked them, what was up with the plenum. They then decided to tell me, that the first 5 plenums, lost power throughout the powerband and on top of that, it wouldnt clear the factory hood. So they did some revisions and they ended up with 9 additional hp, in the upper rpm. They are still in the process of completing the final production piece, but didnt know, when the release date would be. The plenums, arent coming from Cosworth USA, but in Cosworth Australia.

17 CHP, so factor in the drivetrain loss of 20% and you net about 13 whp.Thats very similar to the Motordyne spacers at a fraction of the cost. Would be interested to see some tuning done on one of these plenums..
Also any information as to total volume?

20% drivetain loss
- that's a bit of an overstatement for a 6MT of even a AT... AWD cars are roughly around 18% and that's even dependent on several factors...
Given all the b!tching you've been doing about Sharif and others posting on the Copper Head Gasket thread (supposedly you own each thread you post now
) I would say you should delete your post and stay away from the people you fear and b!tch about that posted on 'your' thread.

Heck, you figure a stock MT Z does about 230-235 on average on a dyno? At 235 vs the 287 rated BHP, that is already at over 18% loss - at 230 vs the 287 rated BHP, that is a 19.86% loss

Heckling is something we usually see at a comedy club. On this forum, it's just plain annoying...
FWIW, I think that there are several shops that are breaking / going to break new ground this year on the VQ. If we can collectively keep our panties out of a bunch, then we may actually see some new products and concepts that help all of us push the envelope of performance.
Just my
