At this point I'll take any lead I can get. I am really not looking forward to a hot summer with out AC in my car.

 

I don't have cracks in my manifolds yet, I told PE that I had the older version kit they ran the serial number and sent me a new pair of cast ones. I have not installed them yet just waiting tell my ss ones crack. They did not reimburse labor but nobody will. whats to say I do the work myself and pocket that money.

No problem, just keep in mind how they did my stock fittings (hard lines on the end of the lines) - I left them my stock fittings, they cut them off, and welded new crimp fittings on to them. We measured the length of the AC line we wanted in comparison to the old one, and had them crimp the stock hard lines onto the new AC line.

Keep in mind that if you go with a braided hose or something of that nature the whole process may be different.

One direction I looked at was going with a full custom Aeroquip braided AC system. THey have a full set of braided AC lines and end fittings. I have NO CLUE if these will actually fit on our type of AC line end fittings, so I didn't go with them. You'd have to do some more research and find the exact size/type of AC fitting we have and order accordingly.

I read this thread, and was troubled by [multiple] comments from one member to another that "nobody" this, "everybody" that, "all of us" this, and so forth, as if the one member had been appointed to represent the entire group of us here in the debate. Obviously, that's not the case.

Speaking only for myself, I want to see input from *everybody* on this forum, all the time, with very few exclusions. I want to read input from those opposed to the OP's comments. I want to read input from those who support the OP's comments. These comments can and should be entered for our consideration without puffery, name-calling, or even threats. We're all on our honor.

Everybody has something to add to these discussions, including foolish talk, exaggerations, and bald-faced lies. But, hey, I can read them all and come to my own conclusions about the value of each post without having to read through paragraphs of pointless name-calling. For example, some posts seem rude, but the content is fundamentally sound. Other posts seem very nice and polite, but are woefully inaccurate or just plain wrong. I can usually tell the difference, but if not, I can simply offer up a question.

And finally...

Is it me, or is much of the name calling coming from *sponsors* these days? I've never seen the like! Far be it from me to tell y'all how to behave, but I believe sponsors and premier members should hold themselves to a higher standard of behavior here. (The moderators can "help" them if they can't do it on their own.) If these so called "supporters" directly participate in the name-calling, mud-slinging, and other churlish behavior, then who can we turn to for help in keeping these discussions civil?

I can't wait to see the dyno numbers on the rebuild. It would be good to see how the dyno graphs compare between your new ST and a typical TT application.

Well *** jack, it's still a little early for that to be determined yet. Like I said it just got into the shop the other day. Spoke to Craig he's still working out the details of the turbo.

Anyway, as I've said before, the water cooled bearing housing has always been an option. It has just never been standard with the kit.

 

And, if you want an update on my car, it's sitting at Performance Factory right now. The motor will be coming out on Monday to analyze the cause of the failure and to begin parting it out to rebuild.
