+1, black smoke = fuel

That is what I was hoping for, my very conservative tune mixed with straight through piping.

Thanks for alleviating my concern but I am still staying ever vigilant.

The turbo system is still at GT, is it easy to check the seals on these things and when checking the seals, is it possible than just by looking or inspecting them, that when the housing is put back together, that they could be reinstalled incorrectly leading to further problems.

I am thinking about asking GT to look into this prior to the install.

Doesn't make much sense does it?
They did replace them all for free. Even payed for shipping. Been boosted twins for over a year and not one problem. I never cracked my SS manifolds and PE still sent me the cast iron upgrade for free!

If you choose to still go with the ST and use the Turbonetics piping instead of the APS, good luck with the down pipe.
Yeah, it will be difficult to mount a normal GTK 650 on the kit piping becuase none of the flanges will match up. We're hoping to get around that easily.

Let us know how your setup works out, I'm interested in hearing how it performs. Good luck to you as well.

I know that some people got screwed and ended up paying for it (Cheston I beleieve). THey didn't reimburse you for the work involved in replacing them did they? I believe that's what Jetpilot was suggesting and I believe that's quite ludicrous...

Well, it wasn't 9:1, it was 9.6-9.8:1.

I wanted a conservative tune and yes I know about fouling plugs but if Sam at GT Motorsports didn't voice a concern then it should be fine.

My worst fear was blowing my motor due to detonation because I was detonating like mad before the EU tune.

Believe it or not but my 9.6:1 ratio worked incredibly well for me. When it gets reinstalled, I may lean it out a little.

White smoke is a blown head gasket, you're getting coolant in the combustion chamber.

Nah, did a dye test, and nothing found. Makes me think it's possible crapped out valve seal(s) or bad ring landing(s). No milkshake in the resvoir or hints of coolant smell coming from the exhaust either.

Default Gtk650

It took over a year for my entire build mainly due to the first shop that I was dealing with going out of buisness while they had my car. Plus a ton of other issues that I won't go into. I should be able to post up some #'s fairly soon. Taurran, if your downpipe is already upgraded, you'll probably have alot easier time than me. The GTK 650 is still an extremely tight fit. Turbonetics makes an adaptor flange that makes it work. I am interested in who did your AC line and how much it ran you. It hasn't been easy for me to find a shop in my area that works with metric AC line.

Craig had a local shop in Tampa do the line for him. I sincerely doubt they have a webpage but he might still have the number to their shop..

Sorry to here about this mang, but you had one heck of a run with the stock motor. Maybe I missed it, but how many miles were you boosted for?
