taurran : "Testing new waters" with the Turbonetics ST

That is what I was hoping for, my very conservative tune mixed with straight through piping.
Thanks for alleviating my concern but I am still staying ever vigilant.
The turbo system is still at GT, is it easy to check the seals on these things and when checking the seals, is it possible than just by looking or inspecting them, that when the housing is put back together, that they could be reinstalled incorrectly leading to further problems.
I am thinking about asking GT to look into this prior to the install.

Doesn't make much sense does it?

I should have it completed and tunned with in the next couple weeks and I'll keep you posted. Function Tunned is doing a great job and all I have is good things to say about them. If you choose to still go with the ST and use the Turbonetics piping instead of the APS, good luck with the down pipe.
Let us know how your setup works out, I'm interested in hearing how it performs. Good luck to you as well.

Well, it wasn't 9:1, it was 9.6-9.8:1.
I wanted a conservative tune and yes I know about fouling plugs but if Sam at GT Motorsports didn't voice a concern then it should be fine.
My worst fear was blowing my motor due to detonation because I was detonating like mad before the EU tune.
Believe it or not but my 9.6:1 ratio worked incredibly well for me. When it gets reinstalled, I may lean it out a little.

It took over a year for my entire build mainly due to the first shop that I was dealing with going out of buisness while they had my car. Plus a ton of other issues that I won't go into. I should be able to post up some #'s fairly soon. Taurran, if your downpipe is already upgraded, you'll probably have alot easier time than me. The GTK 650 is still an extremely tight fit. Turbonetics makes an adaptor flange that makes it work. I am interested in who did your AC line and how much it ran you. It hasn't been easy for me to find a shop in my area that works with metric AC line.
