I know the build took forever and maybe things didnt go exactly the way you wanted but I think it would be in your best interest to let him finish it off. If you supply him with a new EMS and a set of new injectors then he would have to figure this out, because everything else came from him. Once again no disrespect to anyone...
None taken. I spoke with him this morning for a timeline to get it all sorted out. Right now i'm getting my exhaust piping and stuff done locally because it saves everyone involved time and headache. IMO theres no use in tuning or messing with that until I'm done messing with the turbo piping.

I'll then take it back to him and he'll work his magic on the tune and injector issue.

I'm busy as hell at work at the moment, will post again later.

it all comes down to this, you need to step up and upgrade some things on your car. you cant have the fastest car without the right equipment.

so u think the smoke and blowby issues are because of used injectors and used Utec....
what if the injectors are fine? a used utec wouldnt cause that, would it?

regardless i agree that to get top power you gotta have the right equipment

We have to rule out spark blowout and crank case ventilation first. This will require changing and regapping the plugs, and me modifying the intake piping some so I can actually have somewhere to tap in the crank case ventilation before the turbo.

we werent able to fit in the 4 inch intake pipe before he picked up the car so the valve cover doesnt have proper crankcase ventalation. we have seen that cause some crazy smoking issues in the past. the line is ran up to the intake but doesnt hook into the piping yet. a 4inch inlet is hard to bring through the radiator support.

we spoke this morning and will get it all resolve in the near future once he gets some piping made.

the is 100% and injector issue or a utec issue controlling the injector. the car just does some weird issue at a certain injector millisecond. that millisecond moves down in the rpms when more power is being made. the problem is the wideband is after the turbo and with the turbonetics design, there is no way to tell if one cylinder is leaning out at the point.

thats where we stand now and just a couple of the small issues we have encountered along the way of this build that has added on more time to it.

My car is trouble. I think everyone that has ever touched it has hated it when they were done.

Yeah, that's on the list too. I have to worry about driving it to actually get work done so I might just do that after the fact...

Okay, I got the car back with the new custom exhaust, and damn, it's nice! It's amazing that for a 3" dual tipped exhaust, it's actually pretty quiet. I'd say it's on par with the nismo exhaust in terms of loudness. I can actually hear when the wastegate dump opens now and it sounds pretty crazy.

I can't say enough good things for these guys and the quality of their work. The welds on the exhaust look amazing.

On the downside, though... Now that I have a quiet exhaust on the car, that noise from the motor sounds really loud and it is concerning me... I might take it down to bradenton next week and not run, but see if I can get some impressions from other people here on the boards.

Ahh well, here are some pics of the exhaust that the fabricators took in the shop:

Hey Taurran, if I am not mistaken I found where you put all the dirt that should be in the clean engine bay... your rear end near the axles!!! Lol!!

That exhaust is killer!!!

Thanks! I'll try to get some video clips soon. It's the smoothest/quietest full 3" exhaust that I've heard on a Z. Good stuff!

Zamboni's Speed and Custom, in Riverview. They have some fabricators that use the lifts after hours to do fabrication. Mike is the owner of the shop, Chad and Wayne do the fabrication work. As you can see the stuff is top notch.

The exhaust looks great, but from the video, your car sounds great without the exhaust. Very deep and agressive.
