Default Forged Performance: JWT850bb...this one is nasty *pics gallore*

We just wrapped up Eagletangreen's project, and this one was very special. Eagle has been a customer of ours since the very beginning...almost 3 years ago. His original stock short block ran the PE TT kit, and had seen every EMS on the market. We started with an EU, then the UTEC, then the FCON, as he got faster and faster on the track. His best 1/4 times hovered around the 11.9/120mph range on drag radials with a little over 400whp on our DD.

Initially, the plan was to install the tried and tested Greddy TT kit with the usual suspects of mods, and get him 600whp and be done with it. Instead, he manned up, and decided to do the prototype JWT 850bb kit, and had us fabricate a Greddy TT intercooler piping arrangement, and bunch of other goodies. Since we felt that the smaller JWT intercooler core "might" not be quite enough for his project goals, we used the intercooler from my old Greddy turbo kit! There is a lot of historical parts on this car...which makes it even more special for me..at least. And to top it off, we broke our dyno record with 681whp@20psi C18 on the DD.

All of the fabrication work was done in-house, by Chris, my Senior Technician, and all around nice guy.

The engine consisted of a Forged Performance S1 shortblock, with Eagle rods, and FP Spec Arias ED pistons. The head included our S1 street port, and 5 angle valve job, topped with JWT S7 Rev-Up Camshafts.

We also added a Carbonetics LSD, an oil cooler, our fan shroud and fan upgrade package, and Evans NPG+ waterless coolant.

The 850bb's spool a little slower, but have a nice power curve, that doesnt kill you with trq at 3000rpm, and pulls like a freight train after 4500rpm. The car is just rediculously fast, and smooth.

Eagle had two goals:
1) 10'something ET's in the mid 130mph range
2) A potent track setup, for future Time Attacks, and open track day lapping

We'll find out shortly if we succeeded!

First track event is at Barber Motorsports Park on Sept 15th. Thanks for the opportunity, L.
Lots of pics are coming...so be patient.

We also did some heavy modding to get the APS 3.5 inch downpipes to fit the JWT 850BB kit.

Still had room for our fan shroud/fan upgrade.

Pardon the stupid question, but what is the next bottleneck in the car to keep hp from falling after 6000rpm? Most every tt dyno I see has power falling off quickly, but these are larger turbos...Is it Intake manifold/TB? The heads flow well and it has cams and other supporting mods, so whats next?

Nice work Sharif!!! Thoes wheels are SUPER SEXY
What is going on at 6100rpms?Is the car out of turbo, cam,or intake/TB??
On a side note...JEBBBUS, the cockpit of that car looks like the **** pit of a 747 with all those guages and meters..

Dyno Jet Numbers

Thanks so much Bro (Sharif and the crew)

I will put this to good use this next comming week and get you guys some E.T's on low and "mid" boost, and if I can keep it on the ground I'll try high boost.
I think 500 should break into the 10's (IMO)
The high boost is for a Porshe carrera GT that lives here in town (The Hunt is on ).

I told Sharif not to go pass 550 on mid boost as riding in Albertos sold me that anything more is just a waste (on the street).

I did however tell him to go all out (as safe as possible) with race gas my goal was to get as close to 700 on his dyno. "Not bad for a 106 degree day".

When I get there tomarrow (to pick her up) I will take it to the local dyno jet and hopefully be all over 700whp.

Axles will eventually be broken, The car will be run hard, and I will push this unsleeved block, for all it has.

All Go! No Show!

Nice!!! I want to see the times this thing puts down.

When's the first track day?

Oh, and one thing. You say S7 cams in the original post, and the dyno graph says C2 cams. I'm assuming they're S7's as the motor looks like a revup.

Regardless, great numbers!

It's a good question, that we dont have a 100% answer to. The power drop offs only occur under high boost, which leads me to believe that the TB, or the intake plenum are insufficient to physically flow enough air, to supply an engine spinning at 6000rpm+. The manifold pressure is there...but not the mass of air.
We've tried some fairly high duration camshafts, and still see the same issue.

The turbochargers are basically a GT28xx stuffed with GT30 wheels and machined accordingly. I dont have all the specs on the turbos, but I can ask Jim.

Thanks for the comments.
