OOOOOOo nice. Guess its most beneficial to locate near the SC as possible or would mounting near the IC or TB be better for maintaining pipe pressure?

Cant wait to see the power adder and final numbers!

Congrats on the engagement!

Congrats on the engagement!
Ultimately pre-intercooler would be the best because it prevents you from cooling air that you aren't using. Otherwise location doesn't really matter.

The pressure that this is adjusted to will not be the same as manifold pressure and would obviously vary from kit to kit depending on the effeciency of the system and the pressure loss between the headunit and the manifold.

Nice!!!

6.4L 32V motor is replacing the 5.1L 16V this winter and is at the machine shop right now. A hybrid blower that I made is also going on the car so we can really put the power down. Essentially I took an impeller and volute from one supercharger (aka the billet impeller we make and the corresponding volute) and made it fit in a gear driven blower with a much higher internal step up but that had a small impeller.

The above required some work. The radius of the stock impeller was a full 1/2 inch less than the impeller I put in. I had to machine the center diameter that the impeller sits in so it was larger. However, the minor locating diameter of the new volute was larger than the stock volute so I had to add material.

I did this by machining a groove in the case and making a ring that I pressed into the case that would accurately located the volute. The ring is visible in the pictures.

Very nice work!

How much power are you shooting for. What does that car weigh?

I'll share a few more pics of mine.

weighs about 2200 lbs
3.1L stroker
makes 425whp at low boost and around 500whp at high boost
Quite frankly I'm just trying to get use to the car. My 350z has a lot more power but because the porsche is so light---man its faaaaast!

Some photos of the front end. Got the oil scavenge pump installed and working. I also got all the panels for the upper baffle that route air out the hood made. Just have to contour the two side pieces to the bottom of the hood. The back one is the only one visible in the picture.

Dyno will be this weekend (FINALLY!!!) if all goes this week and I can get the base map tuned for the power adder.

No latch on the hood. Just hood pins so it really didn't weaken it as much as you think. The hood is still quite rigid suprisingly.

Well as of August 19th I was able to finally dyno the car!

I hit 394 intially on the dyno with conservative street tuning of both the fuel and timing maps. I then proceeded to install my new toy.... the 928M V-Plus Impeller!! This things is absolutely amazing!!!

I logged my boost for both the stock impeller and the new impeller and saw just over a 15% gain in boost from 2000rpm to redline with the same pullies!

When the day was all said and done I pulled 414whp/355ft-lbs with the new impeller in on a conservative tune just like the stock one for comparison reasons.

However, after getting aggressive with the timing I hit 440whp but started to sputter up top from knock counts. I was running some fairly aggressive timing so it could just be that I need higher octane fuel.

Overall I am happy to finally be done with it and have 99% of the work done finally!!!

Later this fall I should be coming back with the 928M Boost Limiter Valve on along with a smaller pulley and some C16 in the car! Looking to hit 450whp at 10psi agian but with a fat mid-range.

<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qt8YDPGLmmQ"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qt8YDPGLmmQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>

My only regret was that I couldn't run more boost becuase this impeller seemed to be just getting started based on my boost graphs.

Not an update since the project is done.

However, I wanted to let the vendors know that I am in the market right now for rods and pistons. I am looking preferably for Eagle rods and Arias pistons. If any vendors have special deals going please feel free to contact me.

I also wanted to post some updated pictures of the 928 Race Car. Here are some pictures of the new adjustable chin splitter, adjustable carbon fiber wing, and the fully removable front clip:

Here are some pictures of our latest modification which is a completely fabricated intake manifold with a switch from mechanical fuel injection to electronic fuel injection! The manifold is actually 100% done now with a beautifully cnc engraved top welded on to it but right now these is the only pictures I have:

Again, vendors or even forum members with new rods/pistons that they are looking to sell please feel free to pm me.
