Hopefully the thing is badass when its done

Sharif,

Did you alter the timing when you dynoed with the cosworth plenum. Are the gains from a straight up swap (no additional tuning), or did you do some tweaking?

Great looking car Phil! Very clean and well thought out.

I was stressing this session more than I bet Phil was. I am soo glad this thing holds boost, and I just happen to get a dud.
I can wait to make it back from Vacation and try again.

Thawk408!!!
You will see 20 plus PSI (knock on wood) when I get back.
what happened with yours? was it a vacuum leak from the endcaps or something?

Dilsher's car is coming along just great. Sharif will be in touch with Dilsher sometime today. He sent him an instant message last night to discuss it, but Dilsher wasn't at the computer at the time. Dilsher's sales order is 3 pages long. He's getting quite a bit of work done to it, so yes - it is a process that is longer than some of the other cars we've been working on. His car will be quite nice once completed

No big issues!

I just happen to get a bad apple, and Cosworth is sending me a new one as we speak. Yes it was leaking from the end caps. Meth was gushing out like a volcano LOL .

There is no need to worry about this plenum guys! It's a hit IMO! It's been proven on Phils car that it can hold boost. SO BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY!!

it is to be expected that one or two will have issues... carbon fiber is not perfect

I wouldn't worry if I was buying one.

so I wonder, Philthy has some serious headwork, yet doesn't rev past 7k... are there even MORE gains?

Phil or sharif: are you guys planning on upping the redline just to test what the plenum can do or will the smaller turbos hold back the topend (don't know the limitations of those PE turbooos)

Wow, I guess even slow built cosworth pieces are subject to defects. I'm glad they are taking care of it for you, but it is a bit worrysome.

I mean if Cosworth England is only sending Cosworth USA batches of 2-5 at a time, and one of those is a defect, that's not a good percentage. Clearly, there are problems with Cosworth's manufacturing of this unit; whether it be with not being able to make them fast enough, defect-free, problems with the cf/ caps or what not. Of course, there are going to be a few defective pieces, but when there are so few shipping/shipped, it's more pronounced. But I still want one!

Philthy is running GT28s, not the original IHI turbos.
