to everyone else who is asking.

i can do SAE, i dont mind, it usually only makes a couple less hp. the smoothing issue is something i have been dealing with for the past few months.

here is some stock graphs with no engine management, the dark blue one was early last year and the rest of them are later on all the way up to present.

it just doesnt pick up very smooth..

0 smoothing and 5 smoothing, big difference on my dyno. i wish it picked up better, maybe a dynojet guy could come out and fix it for me. one other thing is that i am using a laptop that i hold in the car to read the dynojet readout. they told me that i shouldnt use a laptop and not to use a serial adapter and i am using both cause it makes it easier to tune with all the data in the car with me. maybe thats it, i just havent tried anything else.

back on topic now..

I maybe the only dummy on in this thread that didn't know, but just incase, I found this on another thread.

It has nothing to do with the function of the dyno, only how your chart is displayed and printed. A high smoothing factor is good for showing your buddies, a low SF is best for tuning. It's easier to see inaudible detonation with a low smoothing factor.

Awesome numbers! makes me wish i went with those jwt cams. also, the g looks hot. i'm guessing you'll see more g's with power as the prices drop on them.

the higher in hp you go the more that 2% 3% makes a difference
...for example...sae we know chris is not the fastest pump gas 3.5 anymore

but dont get me wrong

thanks guys, its actually not always 2-3%, it of course depends on the outside temp and humidity. for example, if you look at Andys graph STD and SAE, they are only a few hp different, around 1 %.

What kind of pick up are you using? we have two different ones and the one that does not have an external ground on the pick-up will do stuff similar to what you are saying. However when we use the pick-up w/ the external ground it's smooth as butter.

maybe i need to switch to the one with the ground. i rarely ever use that one and the magnet is a bit cracked so it just sits on the shelf.

i think i will order another one up here soon though, thanks man!

I have to give a quick to both Performance Factory and Intense. It's great to see two premier companies in this industry offering info to each other back and forth, to better aid us... the customer. Awsome Job!!
