Usually when someone goes big like this w/ turbos such as these..correct me if I'm wrong, but they're pushing for 600+
The APS kit you had was better than the new APS kit. The new kit is not Garrett BB turbos anymore....Yesh....most that buy the 20G's usually go for big power or buy them so they dont have to upgrade later.

BTW CONGRATS JAY....... Lawchick side tracked me for a second !!

The aps kit comes with much better turbos than the greddy kit. Saying that the greddy turbo's are better is complete blasphemy.

What was the condition of the aps kit when it was installed, and who installed it?
I don't even visit the FI section anymore and know that the new APS turbos are crap on built motors

Nice outcome Jay!! when do you get the car back?

BTW I will be sending you a PM in a little I have an important question

Epic congrats to you for finally having the car you wanted. Also props to Sharif for publicly stepping up to the plate and fixing this.

That's a low compression built motor begging for boost - I'm sure the 20g's can deliver when Jay decides to turn up the dial. I'd like to see Jay get any traction at this level especially in this weather!

1. I don't know which version of the kit the OP has
2. To my knowledge the greddy turbo's are not true ball bearing turbo's and are only oil cooled
3. how about responding to the comment rather than adding this garbage.

I knew this, which is why I asked about the OP's original kit....

I knew, this, but the greddy turbo's have never been great, and tons for good reasons don't like the greddy kit at all for this reason. I don't want to get into a pissing contest over the superiorirty of turbo's, I just want to get to the actual reason behind Sharif's statement about the original kit, and REAL reasons why sharif didn't just either replace the turbo's or fix the original kit, rather than add a completely different kit. The cost benefit of opting for a brand new kit at this point sounds way off....

You are 0/2 at chiming in to my shop builds threads.

Let me boil it down to the most basic of terms. The new APS Tuner kits use non-garrett tiny turbos that flow nowhere near the air, that the regular APS Garrett TT kits do.

Unfortunately for me and Jay, we didn't know this back in Dec when we installed a brand new APS TT Tuner kit on Jay's car. I could barely break 400whp with the his built motor (motor was built somwhere else..before you ask)

So I un-installed the brand new APS Tuner TT kit, and installed the tried and tested Greddy kit. I ate the labor..Jay paid the difference in the kit. Thank you.

Great, thanks for the info. That's all I asked for. I'm not attacking your threads, I'm just asking for the reasoning and justifications for why certain choices were made.

1. When there is mention of the APS tuner kit ordeal? Did you read the thread? "The sad part is Sharif and I had to endure alot of ******** because of APS new tuner kit.. "
2. And spool like no other with a higher power potential than even the original APS Garrett turbos?
3. How about not making blanket statements about issues you know very little about, turbos included?

Blasphemy, eh?

I wish I lived in Georgia. Congratts fellas! That engine bay is clean. Where do you have your coolant overflow tank? Mine is between the radiator and motor. Id like to stash it too.

The "thank you" just makes this humorous. Well said
