Well, no matter how the battery compartment turns out, it will be way better than the state it was in when the car showed up at Forged... It was quite a mess!

Did some more work to the bay and got the HRE's installed. We still need to dial in the suspension.

one of the best engine bays i have ever seen on a z... easily.

subtle, detailed, functional.

wheels are unfortunately, imo, not working for the look.

And, how's your car coming along? Sounds like you're close as well...

The wheels are stunning in person. It looks a bit odd in the pictures because the ride height is not set quite yet. It gives it a raised stance which looks misplaced. We kept a very similar look that the car had when it arrived to us. We just cleaned it up a bit Once the car is lowered the the final ride height it will look much better.

Where did you put the radiator overflow tank?

I want to relocate mine so I can put an air filter there...

Its going, just at a very slow pace. Tough to get into it after long days at work. I am chipping away at it tho.

you can put it anywhere and it doesnt need to be that big. the greddy kit usually mounts it above the drivers side filter.

or you can get a canister like this

other option is like the GTM kit

At this point, pretty much all that's left is the tuning... Can't wait to see the #'s, and more than that, can't wait to drive her again!

>6 months and still not delivered? I kind of wish shops wouldn't make a build thread unless there's an actual build.... if anything this thread showing how much of a snails pace said shop works at. Not this thread in particular (yet), but it kind of reminds me of those GTM dreamer threads that fizzled off and died somewhere.

/Rant

Good luck with the build and hope it's done soon!

This thread was created to show the progress throughout the build. I think we have accomplished that. I don't see how you can say this is not an "actual build"...especially with the amount of work going into this car. You can see from the updates that have been posted the progress throughout the build as well as how close we are to completion. At this point the only remaining work left is dyno tuning and setting the final ride height. Builds of this size always take a great deal of time. This project has definitely taken longer than initially planned, but we do hope to have it wrapped up soon. Anyone who thinks this is a 1-2 month project is very mistaken. We too hope to finish this car up soon and deliver it into the hands of our customer.

^^ Good to hear that it's wrapping up soon. In regards to 'actual build' of course it is, but 6 months+ (it's not done yet) is a long time to wait IMO especially since the goals were known from the beginning... this is far from a moving target. I can understand if the customer had some cash flow issues or something...

Otherwise if you don't mind I'd be curious to know exactly why this particular project takes 6+ months?

And the customer is still very excited about the progress and the process. Long build, but a ton of work has been done. It was an aggressive list of mods, and done well is way more important to the customer than done fast...

Changes made in the process, parts delays that were out of their hands, upgrades, additions... With anything this complex, the schedule never gets shorter, but the finished product is the primary concern.

And, sometimes working with the best means waiting your turn .
