That's an insane amount of power for the street. Congrats! You're likely going to have to head to a DJ if you really want to get into the top 5 but that DD # should keep you in the top 10 for awhile. When you get tired of the R888 noise, switch over to the RE-11s. Better for the street anyway...

Thanks man. Not all that worried about being on the list - it was more a power goal when Ryan and I first talked... But, if they have time before I pick it up on Thursday, the boys at Forged may get a pull on a DJ while they have it.

And, I'll need a new set of tires pretty soon anyway... although reports from Forged say the current set up hooks up suprisingly well.

Default Done!

Well, it's been quite a process, and I've learned a lot. The Forged Crew were awesome to work with, and this afternoon I pick up the car and head North. Really looking forward to the drive, but will miss my weekly emails and calls with Ryan, and the general excitement surrounding a project like this.

I will be putting it through an immediate "Daily Driver Endurance Test" on my way from Atlanta to Wisconsin. My primary goal, use up at leat one set of tires on the way...

Thanks to everyone who contributed and supported the build. Hope to see you at ZDayZ next year!

Default Home

Car performed perfectly on the 950 mile run from Forged to my home in LaCrosse, WI. Had to get used to the monster clutch... But it cruised without incident - mostly around 85mph. May have touched 125... Sharif told me I wasn't allowed to push it too hard until I got it home!

I'm very glad I had the radar/laser system installed in the car! . Pretty sure it paid for itself on the trip.

Oh, and whoever was in the red boosted Z in Nashville who ran up next to me, sorry about that dose of humility... . I really didn't want to run with you (after Sharif made me promise to behave) but you wouldn't leave me alone. 80 to 120 really happened in the blink of an eye, didn't it? Was it about 3 seconds...

It was a great way to get reaquainted with the car.

Oh, and thanks to Sharif and the rest of the Forged Crew for the extra effort in getting the RaceLogic TC in. It works GREAT! I've got some more experimenting to do, but I like the 15-20% slip setting. Love the system!

And, averaged about 17mpg all in. I guarantee that it will never get that kind of fuel efficiency again!

The Forged Crew worked on the car right until the end, and so I know I grabbed the car before they got a chance to get some final photos. I'm not Chadbee@Forged, but here's my best shot...

Rich, not sure if Forged got any photos of the install or not - tying into the oem wheel speed sensors and intecepting the wires between the FCon and the ID1000 Injectors.

It seems to make launching a bit easier, as it's not easy to slip the clutch - at least not for me yet... And I have had it engage in aggressive cornering. Works great, pretty smooth. Just feels like a miss.

I'm going to mess around with the launch control eventually, and maybe even the full throttle shift, but haven't gotten that far yet.

Saw your car on one of the detailing forums I visit, so I had to check in to see the final results!

ya the proefi has a pretty comprehensive traction control as well. be interested to hear more of your opinions once both of us get more miles.

Did Forged say how much dialing in they had to do to get the RL working properly?

They spent several hours - I was mostly there while Sharif was tuning it. He was on and off the TC tuning from 2:30 to 8:30pm on Thursday. I suspect that, as this was the first one they saw, that whoever is next will require less than half the time...

Your car reminds me of mine, haha except im going with bigger turbos and less displacement and I don't have any shop doing the work.
You should take a look at a smoothline top, I haven't measured the weight reduction of removing my oem top but it was a pretty noticeable amount.
How wide are your r888's? I've got them in 305 in the back and I'm suspecting traction is going to be a problem.

EDIT/PS
How is the racelogic working with your injectors? Any issues?

I've seen some pictures of the smoothline. Maybe! However, I rarely drive it with the top up... Get the weight advantage though.

My r888's are 305's. We decided to stop there for now to keep the wheels more or less inside the wells! Traction is certainly an issue in 1st gear, but it does pretty good after that.

I haven't done much to really put the racelogic through the paces yet. But so far, it seems pretty smooth. I'll try to get later updates as I get some time with the car.

careful with those carbon fiber side caps on the cosworth, mine couldn't hold anything past 20psi. The passenger side cap blew off twice on race gas.... needless to say that manifold can't hold high pressure worth chit
