06+ headlight upgrade issue (turn signal)
I hit a deer about a month ago so I claimed $1800 from the insurance company and fixed my car myself. Well, in the process I decided to upgrade the headlights to the nice 06+ bi-xenon projectors and the conversion went great, but I have one question.
When I turn on my parking lights, the 4 amber LEDs at the top of the housing come on (as expected), but my amber turn signals also come on. Are the turn signals supposed to illuminate when just the parking lights are activated?
I think it would look a lot better if just the 4 amber LEDs at the top, in addition to my blue led on the bottom would look a lot better when only running my parking lights. Does anyone know the procedure to make the turn signal bulbs stay off when parking lights are activated, but still work as a turn signal??

yes its common. the issue is that your 06 tunrnsignal bulb which now has two filaments has three wires going to it and is plugging into a harness on the 03-05 vehicle side that has only 2 contacts spanning the same space.. i left mine as is to be honest, but may tackle changing it soon.
the easy way is to take out the bulb, look at the contacts.. use a 9 volt battery w a pigtail on it as a tester and see which contacts light up the filament in question, look at the plug and harness, and cut, isolate and seal the offending wire.

happened to mine too. i think nissan designed it as a DRL feature for Canadian cars. i simply clipped and taped the constant wire and voila no more constant parking lights. (i believe it's the blue wire that's the constant and green is the power)

Anyways, what it does for me is it activated the front running light (small white light in the corner of headlight housing) and the the tail lights in their dim setting.
Normally cars with DRL just have some sort of amber or white light on the front, nothing on the rear. So I hated that my tail lights were always on. I just unplugged the fuse and drive without DRL's. I see no point to them anyways. If you can't see a car driving down the road during the day then I think you have some issues.

Me too.
My bad here is the link again. Notice where I tape the lead on the bulb. After I test with the tape on then I removed the wire permanently from the bulb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_IM0ugenJI

NismoZR - Thanks for posting the video on turning off the DRL on the 06+ bi-xenon headlights. My issue was unrelated but it pointed me in the right direction.
For future reference:
If you change out your front turn signals to LEDs, you MUST tape up part of the connector as shown in NismoZR's video (or see attachment). Otherwise, all your turn signals and all your small lights front and back will light up together regardless of which side you're signaling. And if you insert either of the front LED turn signals in the wrong orientation, the turn signals won't work at all.
Both side A and side B must have the "left" wire taped as shown in the attachment, in addition to inserting the LEDs in the proper orientation for the turn signals to work properly.

I just cut the wire instead of taping over it. I originally tapped over it, and 2 days later my driver's side light came back on. I took the bumper back off, and saw that at the first point of contact, the metal had worn through the electrical tape. I just cut the wires so I didn't have to do it again. I don't know if I had old electrical tape or what, but ever since I cut them, I havent had any issues. Oh and my turn signal still works fine.
