I have never seen that one before. Looks like they painted the dash panel.

One problem is the navigation screen mounted in the Bose location will have some pretty bad glare, especially on sunny days.

 

They obviously painted the dash and in my experience you won't have glare problems if it's a well made LCD.

any ideas who's that is? I've been wanting to do that for a while now, but I've been wanting to see how people go about making a dash for the screen that doesnt look so after-marketish. I wanna take out my Bose head unit and put a 7" Xenarc Touchscreen there...

I believe you just mold/fibreglass the actual casing of the screen into the dash. Take apart the lcd and mold the front casing in. Then just screw in the actual screen and back casing. With a little fiberglassing experience, this should be no problem.

 

i have no fiberglassing or plastering experience...
do you know anyone in Southern California that does that stuff?

This picture was taken at CES in January.

The car is Kenwood's and was in their show booth. i actually think this was the WORST 350z install at the show. With #1 going to Rockford EASILY and Clarion coming in at #2.

It's Kenwood's 8" touchscreen display, the only way to make this happen is fiberglass.

In Los Angeles, Audio Options are experts (www.audiooptions.com). They actually did the Clarion 350z which you can see on the Clarion web-site.

 

I wish we had a HU like this one here. It looks sooo sweet. Yep, look carefully, that's a Fairlady Z install. It's a JDM Pioneer unit with Nav.
