QTEC: electronic controlled exhaust bypass valve

Does anyone have experince with:this:http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/
I'd plan to put it between the Y pipe and Catalytic converter...I'm assuming the OEM ECU would be able to richen up the A/F enough to compensate-right? (The only other mod I'll have is an intake)
I'm thinking of ordering one for an install, but heard that a lot of these type of units will loose their seal over time...I really don't want to be hearing a constant exhaust leak.

Ummm... No. If you really think about it I'm sure you can figure out why this is such a bad idea for so many reasons. Regardles of what you might hear about everyone wanting or "Needing" a "Free flowing" exhaust. Fuel injected car do need some amount of back presure to work properly. Besides, since you live Cali, I know for a fact it's illegal as Hell. Oh! And it'll also sound like ****. It's still a V6.

I wouldn't suggest doing it on an NA z as the above poster was correct that some backpressure is good on a NA fuel injected car. But, it's definitely something that would be interesting on a high output turbocharged motor where full 3in piping is just not adequate.
edit: The WRX drivebys with the 80's butt rock is a great touch.

hummm...here's why I was thinking of getting the Qtec:
1) Increase in HP & TQ
2) I can have the car be quite when needed. (I don't like to distrub my neighbors)
Any thoughts on how to do this? Is there much power to be gained by freeing up the exhuast on a NA?

not much power to be had at all....exhausts on these cars are more of a styling mod and less of a performance mod till you do the ancillaries like cams, etc etc.
Biggest resitriction in the exhaust is the cats and Y pipe.....dumping the exhaust post Y pipe and pre mid pipe is going to net you a TON of noise...and nothing else
