Default Anybody sell/trade a black ZR in East TN area

I just bought my wife a 2004 triple black Z roadster. I know the car was bought in the Gatlinburg, TN area (first 8,900 miles) and then bought by a second owner in the Knoxville area (next 20,000 miles). Has anyone on this board owned this car?

Was it modified? Carfax didn't give you a name? I would say most stock Z owners are not on this board if they owned it for 20k miles.

CarFax no longer gives names as far as I've seen (the last few years). You have to be careful with them anyway since they are a good start but not a complete reference. Example - CarFax could be accident-free yet the car could have still been wrecked. I found this out twice the hard way.

+1 I have also fell victim to carfax. I purchased a car 4 years ago that was said to be wreck free. Found out a couple years later through my own personal investigating and a friend that does body work that it was indeed in quite a bad accident on the driverside quarter panel.

One thing that happened to me is someone hit me from the rear in a parking lot exit ramp (hard) and when the police came, they didn't even fill out a report because they said it was on private property. So in this case, nothing was available to CarFax. The car (Neon) who hit my Trans Am looked to be totalled by the way.

Another time, I had a clean CarFax and I took the car in for service and it was the same dealer that the previous owner had been using and when I went to get the car - they couldn't find my name in the system. This happened becasue they keyed the VIN number in when I brought it in and it came up under the other guys name so they never bothered to check mine. When I finally figured out what was going on, I asked for a printout of all the work that had been done to "my" car and found out it had basically the whole front clip replaced due to an accident.
