when I did my 07 brakes on my 03, i had to cut the dust shields, no big deal. I'd say lines and calipers took 4 hours, assuming nothing is rusted on and everything goes well.
Honestly, the grinding isnt a big deal, I think its just a ridge off the casting. And it doesnt affect your ability to go back to original brakes.
any lines are fine.. there are pros and cons to each, goodridge, stillen, technifit or stoptech are good choices. Just avoid the Earls (i think thats the brand).
Start with OE pads and see how it feels. If youre tracking, you'll need other pads anyway. I dont know that I'd use aggressive track pads daily driving.. they are hard on the rotors and wont grab til warmed up. This is a personal choice on your part. The OE pads will get you thru autox just fine. Yeah, these are g37 coupe brakes. use that as your search.
Hmmm, I'd alot less worried about the grinding than having a local place powdercoat my calipers. The last thing you want is your seals damaged. I'd want a really good shop that is used to doing brembos on a job like that. There used to be some vendors here that could do it. Luckily, you dont need a large oven like they do with wheels. Your choices with powercoat shops are quite a bit better on smaller parts.

So hello all of you quiet people!
So I've decided to get that brake set-up after I get a couple other things. I'm looking into an lsd now. I've read reviews on a lot of them and can't make up my mind. Any suggestions? I know Adam likes the Quaife, if I'm not mistaken, and it seems like a great lsd.

if you plan on going to Zdayz, you may want to hold off. I think Adam had his eye on a specific LSD until he saw/heard/felt it in action.. The Quaife is alot more expensive, but he's willing to pay that for quiet operation. Not so say thats what you want, but you can see it in action and decide for yourself. Pretty much the same with all the mods youre thinking of, someone will have it and you ask around about whats got the least compromises for what you plan to do with your car (daily driver vs track *****)
also, if you want to buy something, there's a good chance if they are on the east coast, they will be a zdayz too.. I got my brakes that way..saved alot of money on shipping and was able to do the deal in person.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice on that. I hadn't thought about that. I want to go to ZDayz, bad, but am unsure if I am going to be able to. I honestly do not want to make the ungodly long drive alone but will keep checking to see if anyone here is going to head that way sooner to the event.
I just bought a engine torque dampner
LOL.
Also got some test pipes I might try to put on this weekend...all depends if nissan has gaskets in stock, or can get them to me by friday
Other then that the rest of my "play" money is going to start to go toward tires and shocks for my codrivers car...hopefully we will be competitive this year at some larger events.
Oh and the first autox of the season is Feb 22nd at war memorial stadium. Hope to see some of yall out there...even if its just to come hang out and watch other people beat on their cars

Torque dampner eh? Nice! Lol!Test pipes too..... Bring on the rasp!!!!!!!
Everyone needs to go to the Autox event this Feb. It would be a lot of fun to get everyone out there even if they aren't driving like Davidb says. Everyone could see what it's like!
the drive there is 1/4 of the fun.

shenanigans are afoot... or about to begin in that pic. I didnt really participate there.. I'm a wuss.
There are like 6 more Z's behind me (from memphis and jackson). It's actually pretty cool, who ever has V1's run in front and back (another thanks to Adam and Steve on that one, they did a great job with the group.. and I understand Brad did the same the year before). Its amazing how you can control traffic with that many cars. Everybody works together so nobody gets boxed in or stuck in slower traffic. We all have 2way radios in each car. There are a few instances where a few will break off for some 'fun', but it's not high stress.. you can cruise along at 76-78ish and no worries really. We stopped fairly frequently, we were there with our wives/gf's.. so... yeah, we stopped alot, but again, it was all pretty fun and no pressure.

LOL it's kinda like eating a chip, except you cant just go once
it def is a blast. I think the caravan down and back is 1/2 the fun. Last year wasnt as fun cause it rained/drizzled most of the time? but all and all it's still a blast.

So I asked off for ZDayz tonight. I couldn't help it. It looks like too much fun. I'm going to go this year because next year I may be looking into buying a house and am afraid I won't be able to go so this year sounds like a good time!
K guys I need some help. I'm trying to figure out the paint code for my car, going to have my new hood painted, and I found it on the door panel but it doesn't match any paint code I can find online for Nissan. My code is K23 and the Nissan codes are KY0 for Chrome Silver and K25 for Liquid Aluminum. I'm confused now. Any ideas?
