Default Chromed Wheel Lips...

Guys/Gals,

I'm been debating whether or not to have the lips of my wheels chromed and need a place to have it done. Anyone in the SC, NC, GA area know of a place that can do the work?

If it matters, I have a set of TSW Thruxtons

You can try Justin at "Prince's Wheels" they are in Monroe, NC. I think the number is 704-289-3600

how about a high luster polishing. I'm sure alot more people around you can do a good polish job compared to a good chrome job

M-P,
That's an option that I hadn't considered. I wonder which finish would hold up to the elements better?

Well I know polished take more care because you need to use a good polishing paste when you clean them to return them to the original shine, but chrome can chip kinda like paint even though they are slightly less maintenance.

Just as a side question...Is there anywhere that could do a black chrome coating?

Yeah, and chrome just adds weight to your wheels on top of the already heavy TSW thruxtons. I would go with a high polish.

Those Thruxtons are indeed heavy, but do you seriously believe that chroming the lips would add any significant weight? I'm not being critical, just asking a question

While it may not add a very large amount of weight, wouldnt you want to avoid any excess weight to your rims? Also, you'll have to deal with the chrome chipping off. You can achieve the same results for the lip with a high polish and not have to worry about either of the above. BTW, nice rims I almost got the thruxtons, but decided to go with Ruff 278 instead.

I agree with you, man. I'm debating as to what to do as I may just put them up for sale.

By the way, those Ruff's are sweet.
