Good Job - sorry I missed it. I don't care what anyone says, I hate Vettes (well except the 50's and 60's models). They are to big and the shifting sucks in them, even the Z06.

 

Hey what would you guy's think about going up to the Z event going on this Saturday at the Gainesville facility? It would give us a chance to hang out and get to get to see the track. It's like $5 to watch.If not we can try to get everyone together this weekend sometime.Also there might be 4 spots opening up in the list 1 guy pm'd me off the SRT forum today sayin he was not sure he was going to be able to make it,and he was bringing 3 others. I'm not messin around so I'm going to contact those on the stand by list and if they want the spots and can send the money to me they get em.Once someone states they might not be able to go I'm going to sell their spot if someone is able to send me money ASAP! This is so I can guarantee each of us only spend $100 each.

Here is a recap of what is going on.There is some that are listed as unsecure on the list.This is due to those either stating they MIGHT not be able to make it or just not responding back to my PM's.If you want one of these spots let me know and send your payment ASAP to take that spot.I'm not being an a-hole to those on the list I'm just wanting to guarantee to those going they will be spending only $100 for alot of track time.

I put the deposit down on the road course at Gainesville and the date is set Saturday June 3rd from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.The total cost of renting the facility is $2000.00 up to 20 cars which includes EMT,insurance,and tax.Everyone serious about going to this day of fun will need to be on the list by April 21st,and I must recieve payment by May 3rd.I will be taking checks,cash,or paypal,(Jeremy screen name audiblemayhem will be taking the paypal payments as my paypal account charges me a 3% fee) the amount each person will pay depends on the amount of people that attend (example. 10 cars=$200.00 each 20 cars=$100.00 each).That is why the deadline is being set to April 21st so at that time we will know what each of us will be spending.This list should fill up pretty quickly from the amount of interest already obtained, remember 20 cars is the max.Now this track rental is a gathering of individuals who want to get out on a track to push their limits and talk cars all day long.There is no instructors there really is no leader there is going to be rules to follow and I need everyone involved to help it go smoothly.It is just us and the EMT's out there.Everyone that goes will need to sign off on 2 waivers at the track.Each person will also need a snell 95 or newer helmet,and also be responsable for getting your car ready for the track(brakes,tires in non hazardous state,lugnut torque etc.)I rambled on enough if you have any questions:

Levent there are 3 more spots that are unsecure still.Same thing goes with these spots as with how you got yours. The people that wanted these spots are either out of contact cause they were coming with someone I had contact with and that person stated they might not go,or they have not replied back to me a committing answer.So these spots are up for sell, so the first person to send me the payment of $100. for the spot gets it.I'm not waiting for anyone to tell me anything anymore it's time the spots get paid for! So if you have 3 buddies that want those spots have them send me the money and the spots are theirs!

Not sure yet Nita still has not sent me the contract.I'm going to contact her Monday to find out why,and I will stick in a couple questions while I'm at it.

Very true. Anyone have the G35x? I'd love to see an AWD car on the track. I know that they go to full rear after something like 19 mph, but there is "snow" mode isn't there which is full time AWD?

 

I will be getting my race tires next week! What a long process it was, but finally going to have road racing tires. Just got my hitch installed so I can hall the goods to the track!

what tires are you getting?? i thought about putting some good tires on my stock rims...

 

I just bought some new rims (SSR) w/ Pilot Sport Cups on them with 265 front and 295 rear. The rims are the strongest and lightest track wheels made - and they where on closeout prices!
If you want some good feedback on tires - call Luke at the tirerack. He actually has a Z and races it, plus they let him try all the tires.

 

If you haven't ever used racing tires before, I suggest you get some used ones. There are a number of racing teams that sell them and you can get them from used tire places that get them from sponsored teams.

I got a set of Kuhmo 710's that had about 2 laps on them for $80 each. Got to my house in 3 days and he shipped COD. Really, they look brand new! A friend of mine got a set of Toyo RA-1's from him (80% thread) for $70 each.

Turnermotorsports (races BMW's) also sells tires that they practice with and they usually have 75% life left. Check out their site under used race parts.

R Compound Race tires take some time to get used to, so there is no reason to drop a grand on a set for the first time in my opinion. Especially if you're just using them for fun track days or autocross.
