Recommend ticket attorney in Raleigh, NC?
I just got pulled over today in Morrisville NC by a huge ******* of a cop. So he did the standard "Why shouldn't I take you to jail tonight" and "have you been drinking?" BS (I was in gym clothes and it was 7:00, yeah buddy I had 5 shots of Jack on the way out), then lectured me about how I should have stopped immediately when he was behind me (I put on my turn signal and drove probably 1/8 mile so I could turn into a subdivision instead of stopping on a 4 lane parkway). He also inflated the speeding number, which is awesome.
He was coming towards me in an SUV and it was dark so I didn't notice it was a cop until he hit me. When my detector went off I glanced at my speed and saw 50 mph, which this cop claimed was 57 in a 35. I thought it was a 45 mph zone for some reason, but no such luck.
I was polite despite his antics so he didn't tag it with reckless. Nonetheless, I'd like to get an attorney to get the best possible result and not get nailed with a ridiculous insurance rate. The cop recommended a prayer for judgement, but I'm not in the business of taking legal advice from a powertripping meathead who's re-living his high school days on the offensive line by trying to intimidate commuters, so I'd like a second opinion.
Can any fellow Triangle residents chime in with some advice, or maybe even recommend an attorney in the area? I'm not really familiar with the PFJ in NC, and haven't had much luck finding info/advice on using it yet. My prior history is 0 tickets in 9 years of driving, if that helps. Thanks!

I got a 100 in a 65 / reckless in Greensboro back about a year ago. After a hole bunch of trips to court, 30 hours of community service, driving school & court costs my lawyer got it down to PFJ... given I had no other tickets on my record.
As it was explained to me the PFJ is a "forever continuance", basically a get out of jail free card for tickets useable every few years. It shows on your record but your insurance is not affected.
I have a lawyer for you but I don't recall his number off hand, I'll have to run thru my records...

RAR - you got a PJC aka prayer for judgment.
Orange - I have several referals in Raleigh that I have worked with before. Reasonably priced and very nice to work with. I will send you a message in the morning if I can remember.

Damn lucky I found this thread. I was coming back home from tail of the dragon Sunday night and this @$$hole gets on my tail with his light beaming in my car. I decided to shake him off so I stomp on the gas, in a couple of seconds he is a dot in my rear view mirror. I slow back down and sure enough he catches up and does it again and also gets over in the next lane shinning his light on my side mirrors almost blinding me. So I said forget this and do one more pull this time making sure he could not catch up. He tried to keep up but was loosing me fast about this time I see lights come on and I pull over. It was an undercover cop in an impala. He jokes about following me the whole time before he takes off and lets another cop in a patrol car give me a ticket. I got 110 in a 65
I don't know what im going to do. This was in Morganton, I live in Huntersville. Anyone know of a good lawyer in that area?
