I need to know whats a nice are to live in near atlanta? ill be working out of a airport if I do get this swap. I know sheriff lives in georgia so he could help me here!!!! i need to know how much a desent house is worth maybe new.
It all depends on what you are looking for? If you want to be close to the ATL airport you have a couple of options South of the city in the suburbs or can always live on the south side of town (Grant Park, Cabbage Town, Inman Park, etc.). If you don't care about having a 2 hour commute to work in the morning look at Marietta, Alpharetta, Gwinnet Co. It really depends on your situation and what you are into.

I assume you are talking about Hartsfield Int'l in Atlanta. Alot of people live just south of Atlanta that work there, including my dad. Peachtree City is a really nice area, alot of pilots and delta workers there, even have a Delta credit union in the city. It would be about 20-40 minutes away from Airport, nice access to I-85.
While Buckhead was a good time in the past, most of the bars and clubs are about to be bulldozed to be replaced by mid-rise or high-rise buildings that will have office space and apartments up top and retail down low. I lived there for a while and while it is fun to visit, occassionally now, it is nowhere near the same. I have heard good things about Brookhaven and some of those areas around there.

I live in brookhaven. It's gotten out of hand in terms of property. I love it though. A 20 dollar cab ride everywhere. Buckhead, VA. Highlands, mid-town. Well worth it considering the alternative DUI cost.
To be honest, you should try the towns that lie on Camp Creek Parkway, or, as locals know it, route 278. That would include Lithia Springs, Dallas and Hiram. These places are less than an hour from the airport and you can actually buy a house there for less than an arm, leg or ********. If you want to live in Atlanta, then what these other guys have posted sounds good.
lindbergh seems to be a developing area. and it's right next to one of the cleanest marta stations (riding marta will get you down to the airport in about 30-40 minutes). i suggest doing this as you do not want to sit through atlanta traffic.

Anyway, I work at the airport as well and just moved to Vinings which is in Smyrna. Very quiet area, nice shops and restaruants and is convenient to 285. Takes me all of 15-20 minutes tops to hit the employee parking lot on Camp Creek. I prefer the north end of Atlanta as opposed to the south end (in relation to the airport).
What exactly are you looking to do? Buy, rent, lease, etc.? Now if you're a "baller" I'd move to Atlantic Station
College Park near South Fulton Parkway, 15 minutes from all necessities and 15 minutes from the airport. I live just south of CAMP CREEK rd, which is the direct road into the AIRPORT. Many new communities, variety in pricing, and no congestion; very quiet, and serene. My subdivision has about 15 new homes for sale, and there is an entire new community going in up the street.
I like it here so much, literally the most peaceful place I have lived, nice neighbors too.
Shoot me a PM.

If you live in Marietta, you will be minuted from Forged. That should be reason enough!! j/k
What type of environment are you looking for? Busy city life , or suburbia?
