350Z Cookout this Saturday! --- near Raleigh, NC
For those who may have missed it or need the details, here they are again!
First, Moderators... please, please do not move this post (in fact, if you can make it a “sticky” that would be just dandy!
).

Our event is in less than two weeks
We are hoping to possibly draw some Virginia Z owners so, rather than post cross-regional, I am posting here.
Now... on to the show... Details are not completely final, but the Charlotte, NC 350Z club is organizing what will be a 350Z drive and cookout for the weekend before the 4th of July. Here is what we know so far...
WHEN: Saturday, June 28th around noon
WHERE: Jordan Lake State Park near Raleigh, NC
WHO: We're organizing this as a 350Z event to get the Charlotte and Raleigh 350Z enthusiasts together, but I think it would be cool for it to be open to any Zs.
Okay, that's the rough cut of the plan. Further details are still being worked on. If you are interested, you must email me at mcduck@earthlink.net
Updates will get posted here, but they go out to the mailing list quicker. More importantly, I must have a head count to reserve the picnic shelter for the cookout. The prices vary by shelter size and we don't want to get one that is too big (or too small) for the group. If possible, tell me when you first email me if you are likely to attend.
Also, be aware that this will not be a free event. There is a $4 per car admission to the park itself that you will have to pay no matter what.
The cookout may or may not require that I ask for a "contribution" as well. The latter will depend on the number of attendees. If we actually use a shelter and do food together, I'm thinking $6 for driver alone, $5 for each additional person you bring. Basically, this works out to $10 total for one person or $15 for two (to get into the park and to eat).
MMmmm...... Spammmm...... arrgggllllll.....
Nothing fancy... probably burgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, tea, and so on.
No promises, but if I can verify a decent number of Zs a few days prior to the event, we may do a "car show". Depends on numbers, car mix, etc. Mostly for fun, but I may run out and get a trophy or two... or maybe gift certificates for Outback or something.
So, what are you waiting for??? Email me already!!!

I'm wondering who from Raleigh is planning on showing up Saturday. I know of at least 3, including myself.
I'll be there showing off the results of applying a couple of coats of the newly-reformulated Zaino Z2. Believe it or not, it's even shinier!

I think we all had a good afternoon. It looked like we were going to get rained out, but except for a few sprinkles we had a great day; pleasant temperature and not too much sun.
It was great as we were leaving, I was on the highway (in my Silverstone) with two Daytona Blues ahead of me and two LeMans Sunsets behind me! Symmetry!

Here's one of my pics, showing most of the cars that showed up:

Thanks for posting the pics. Andy should have his pics posted soon.
It was great meeting everyone and seeing their mods. I hope Charlotte and Raleigh can hook-up more often. For the Raleigh group, please keep us Charlotte guys in mind for your future meets!

Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday! We had 9 350Zs and 1 G35... not too bad a turnout considering rain threatened all day (though there wasn't any the whole time we were at the park!).
Fun facts...
Okay, without further ado... a few pics.
We'll start out with a shot of the Z line up...
Fun facts...
- Moss and his wife drove down from Richmond, VA for the cookout. So they win the prize for longest commute. Moss also had the only auto Z there, I believe
- Devin brought the only G35 to show up for the cookout. Of course, our Infiniti cousins are always welcome!

- 6 of 8 colors were represented. We were short a RedLine, Pikes Peak White... although these colors have shown up for other events. Sooner or later we'll make a full set!
- I brought the only Brickyard and only Performance model
- All models but Base were represented
Okay, without further ado... a few pics.
We'll start out with a shot of the Z line up...
this was my first chance to see the Coupe up close... very posh! I still don't like the rear of the car, but everything else is impressive. Not to mention Devin keeps his very clean.

Enjoy guys.
