Yeah, definitely take it easy up there...especially on the back stretch of the mountain where there are no guard rails and sand everywhere.

hey guys, just found the s.e. region site. and just bought my Z 3 weeks ago. would love to go one the ga mtn run, but will not get home till the wed. following. if this is a monthly run i would love to go sometime, as i have seen this part of n. ga. before, got lost on a trip from n.c. to home when my navigator (wife) fell asleep and i followed 17/75 to cleveland ga. instead of cleveland tn. oops. the sign just said cleveland so i turnd an found myself dropping off the mtn on one of the prettiest scenic drives i have ever seen. too bad i was in a chevette at the time!! have already dreamed of taking my Z back to that area and just driving it again. we are familiar with that area also due to a supplier of our old business is in that area, and traveled thru dahlonega-dawsonville area many times. will keep in touch and try to make a run soon. seems to me to be the perfect place to enjoy a drive in a Z!!!

 

if you leave at 10:30am about how long does it take to complete the run? are there any stops along the way for breaks/eats. its gonna be a 4 hour drive for us just to get to the starting point. any recommendations on a hotel to stay over if needed? not sure if my wife or son will be coming with me, cant bring both, lol.. any info would be greatly appreciated. probably wont make the october run but should be able to make the november run if there is one planned.

Thats where they meet to come to Dahlenoga. I meet them where 400 meets 60.

Wow I am surprised that no one showed up. I posted up on Frenzy that I had other things going on. But I thought there were still a few that were going. Sorry you had to make the drive.

 

The gf and I still drove what we could find of the mountain and somehow ended up going through ellijay and Fort Mountain, lol.

Next time, I will meet you guys where 400 and 60 meet that Chevron station, it is almost an hour closer to me.

 

Well dont feel to bad.. the very first runt when it started, me and the gf went and got lost from the group so we just drove around and did our own thing and went over into Helen. It was funny bc I found out later that we had short cut them and got in front of them.

But yeah next time you can meet every up there. We usually get there around 11- 11:15 area. So just let us know so that we wait for you.

Do these mtn runs continue throughout the year?

 

Ironically, my car is in the shop again. No diagnoses yet, but if all goes well, I will head to the next one. It was fun and I will meet everyone at 400 and 60 meet at the Chevron.

Although, 400 does have some long straights that are ideal for activities that are of questionable legality !
