We booked a room at OLD CARRABELLE for $87 a night, there are only 4 other rooms available for at that place, it's a pretty good price.

 

I am Reserved there (OLD CARRABELLE) as well there Got the " Hemingway "

 

you know what Chad, Angie and I reserved that room first....... we will see who gets it.

Carrabelle Speed Festival - July 30th, 2011!!

WannaGOFAST.com is proud to present our first event of the New Year the Carrabelle Speed Festival. It will take place at the Carrabelle-Thompson airport in Carrabelle, FL. This event is all about speed! Test your vehicle and driving skills on an open runway. We will be doing standing HALF MILE races all day long!! The best part is that we are allowing head to head competition instead of solo runs like other airstrip events. The theme will be classic grudge match style racing. Hit speeds you only dreamed about on a ¼ mile track in a fun and safe environment!

 

I just cant win... looks like my training got pushed back a month. So I can go to this but I cant go to that open lap day in August.

Anyone want to split a room there for the night?

 

Well I am all paid up. Got a Room to sleep in, Got a helmet, an paid registration Fee.

I think I am going to pick up a EzUp so I have some shade to sit in at the air strip.

 

^^ Great idea on some sort of shade, I should have thought of that seeing as how it is critical to my survival.
They should just let us camp there at the airstrip...

 

You go ahead and do that I'll be sleeping in a super cozy bed!

This could be fun. Maybe if I wish hard enough, my block will magically appear and I can have my car ready for this. If it is, by any chance, complete by the 30th, I will definitely look into this. I've never done any drag racing and never really cared about doing any drag racing, but this could be fun.

 

I would love to see your car run at the airstrip. It would get up to some pretty crazy speeds I imagine.

Just reserved my room, I decided to go with the Franklin Inn(Motel, built in 2007, good reviews, etc). Its a whole 0.9 miles from the airstrip and $59.99 a night for 2 queen beds. If anyone wants to split it with me just let me know, you just cant be creepy.
Still need to register for the event but I'll do that when I know for sure I can go.

 

It's wayyyyy more fun than a drag race... I did a full mile run and not a 1/2 but I can assure you that it's definitely worth your time.

 

Where did you get your helmet from? I still need to get one...
