Default Attention Dragonslayers!

WHEN: Oct 1-3, 2004
WHERE: Fontana Village Resort, Fontana, NC

There have been a few mentions of this around other threads, but I wanted to make sure there was a post with info that everyone could find easily. The Zs will again be converging on Hwy 129 near Deals Gap, NC, the infamous Tail of the Dragon!!!

This is not going to be a huge Z car show/drive/event... ZDayZ will still take place in the spring just before Memorial Day. This is just a small outting some clubs decided to do for their members who missed ZDayZ for whatever reason. There will be no "extracurricular" activities... just driving mountain roads and hanging out with fellow Z owners in the evening.

If you can only make it down once a year, I'd say wait until ZDayZ 2005, but if you're close enough to drop in for a weekend, come join us!

Our host will again be Fontana Village Resort. Event dates are Fri, Oct 1st thru Sun, Oct 3rd. If you book a room, be sure to let Fontana Village know you are there for the Z event to get the group rate.

bigdaddy... it's always more fun to drive than to watch. I mean... would you rather watch a porno or... well... you get my point.

Franken-Z will be further upgraded for this trip... springs are already on... sways soon... and new rubber before Oct. The Dragon doesn't stand a chance!

Bonz... you know you're always welcome. If you ever just happen to be down our way, give me a call. I'd be happy to meet up with you for a weekend cruise.

those that are closer, tho... you have no excuse! It's time to hit the Dragon again!!!

Just a quick update. I spoke to the folks at Fontana Village yesterday. They did not get hit bad by Hurricane Ivan. All roads are open and things still look good for our event.

See everybody in a week + 1/2!

Hey Andy, do you have an itinerary for Saturday? I am thinking of driving up for the day and returning home that night. I am just wondering if you have a formal route that you will be taking.

Right now things are looking good for a long day in the car. I may possibly try to stay that night but not sure yet. If you can PM me some of the room rates.

Tony

azaz

There is no formal schedule for this event. Here's what I propose and others can jump in or do their own thing as they please.

I think most people are arriving throughout the day Friday.... sooooo...

Friday Afternoon - hit the Dragon and other roads nearby

Friday Night - hang by the pool and BS with the Middle Tennessee guys. If you don't do this, you will be missing out! ARRRRRGH

Saturday all day - here is where I think we should do an organized cruise. There is an awesome loop you can take in TN after driving through the Dragon. It is definitely an all day event. Thinking... Dragon, 1/2 of the loop, lunch, remainder of loop, Dragon, back to Fontana Village. If enough people are interested, we'll set up some way points so we don't have to worry about staying bunched together for the entire drive.

Saturday Night - same as Friday night!

Sunday - another quick drive then home.
