Default Colorado Drive on Sat. Aug 13th

I hope this is far enough in advance that it might work out for everyone. I just wanted to get this posted up before I left town as I will be on my honeymoon for the next 2 weeks. I am really wanting to get together with everyone, so hopefully we can before the weather turns bad.

I'm not sure at what time or where we could go, maybe everyone can chime in with where they would like to take a drive. Since I won't be around, I more then likey won't be checking this thread for awhile, but hopefully this will work out. Worst case scenario, we just pick a meeting spot and devise a plan for a drive right there.

I hope we can get a big turnout for this, I'm shootin for 15 cars, hopefully more. Thank you in advance for everyone's input.

Ok, I'm willing to bite. How about a run over Independence Pass to Aspen and then back through Glenwood?

I haven't had the Z over Independence yet so that sounds doable. Count me in!!

I have done the Independence pass run before, and it is great..

I should be able to make that date.

I'd be in if that wasn't the same weekend as the Denver Grand Prix. Unfortunately, I just can't pass up the opportunity to see all those Champ Cars, Trans Ams, Speed World Challenge GT and Touring Cars, Toyota Atlantics, and Formula BMWs fly around.

Well, this is the first time I have ever quoted myself, but I may not be able to make the trip this time... some young jerk in a '97 Camero just rear-ended my baby... and she's in the shop for repairs. I need a hug...

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Did the fellow have the decency to stop and offer his life in trade or did he tuck tail and run? Hope he has insurance as body work can be expensive.
Hope it gets fixed so you can make the drive. It should be fun.

Craig: I wish it were the normal fender bender, but this guy slammed me doing 40mph. The impact was enough to knock me completely off the road. Cannot thank Nissan enough for their seats, as I have virtually no whiplash! Doubt I'll be able to make the drive, as there's a lot of damage... I will post pics when I get some tomorrow... if any one is interested.

Thanks for the concern.

Don,

Sorry to hear about this, thats terrible. Let me know if you need that info of the body shop me and now 2 of my friends have used and had excellent results with. Remember, you can take your car to any shop you wish, you don't have to go where the insurance company tells you to go. This place fixed my Z and looked good as new.

As for the drive, the Independence Pass route sounds great, it's been a few years since we have done that one. I will be there. I hope others can make it as well.

Gary..............the race is 3 days long, I think you can miss one day.

Thanks for the info Brian, but I've got a very reputable shop here in Parker that I'm going to use. If for any reason they turn out NOT to be as good as their word-of-mouth reputation, then I'll be giving you a call.

Don,
Didn't realize the damage was that extensive. I hope you're okay. It sounds like you survived with minimal damage. The car be repaired. I hope it doesn't take too long. Did the fellow hang around or do you have to use your UIM insurance?

Good Luck and speedy recovery,
Craig

I am fine... thanks Craig. Here's a few quick pics of the damage... makes me sick everytime I see her. Repairs will take longer than I would like, and can expect a 3-4 week turnaround... this job will be perfect!

That is not pretty! At least it seems to be just body panels, but I guess they won't really know until they put it on an alignment rack. Hope it all goes well and you're ready for the next track day. That's Sept. 10 and the guy with the G35 is waiting!!!
