Also easier to be killed by disgruntled wife with new carbon fiber drivetrain than to have not ordered it thus giving unintentional weapon to wife to beat you sensless with....

...then again, if your car parts come with a new necklace or shiny ring, you might be ok.... depends on if its jdm or not.

If you're not overheating your diff fluid and/or you're not already dropping the diff for other work, then it's probably not worth doing all that install work just for this part alone (IMO), but since Rick is already removing the diff, it's an easy additional step to add the extra insurance against overheating.

Update: My wife has received the 3.917 Final Drive gear from central 20! The part arrived at my mother-in-laws house in Kumamoto Japan yesterday... hopefully she can get the thing back without too much trouble on her flight, a bit concerned about how security is going to react to this thing.

Rick,

Just want to thank you for helping me spend more money on my Z. Since you posted about getting the 3.9 Central 20 & possible Quiafe I started doing research on both. Also researching axels, clutches, & flywheels. Want to start building up the car to handle more power.

Hey Robert, no problem man... I love it when I discover a new angle of improvement for the Z.

Yeah, this drivetrain stuff is interesting to read up on. I can't wait to get this 3.9 installed once I get home (in San Francisco - met my wife her for the weekend). I should have it installed in a couple of weekends.
