I have actually calculated this all out and here is some of my information. Using what I expect my pump gas limit boost pressure to be (20psi) with full boost right at 4000rpms and 10psi. at 3000rpms here is the map I plotted with my cars specific air density. This is using the GT3076R instead of the 71 because the turbine housing supplied on the 71 is an internal gated setup and I want external with a V-Band discharge.

I took some pics of the internals on the motor that I was running before. I lost the ringlands completely on pistons 2 and 3, and cracked it on 4. The rings were cracked on 3 and 4. I spun all 4 bearings I think, and got rod knock on 3 if I am reading this right. I there were no signs of detonation (pitting on pistons or head). But the exhaust valves on 2 and 3 seem burnt up at the edges, just excessive heat or is it maybe detonation? I was going to originally just clean the head deck it and reuse it but now that the valves are bad I need to go all out on that so..... I will now be getting a valve job with SS intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves with dual valve springs and titanium retainers.
Now I am curious as to what came first the spun bearings or the cracked ringlands (what blew up). It blew boosting on the highway one night. I felt something wierd happen and noticed a change in exhaust note. If I pushed in the clutch it would die, I was less than a mile from home so I though I would get it there and check. Got off the highway and a couple blocks from home I started hearing rod knock. When I drained the oil the next day there was only about 2 quarts in there.
Pics:
2 and 3 piston.
Rod journal 2 and really bad 3.
The really bad set is no. 3.
Cyl. 2 is the only one with scaring.
What caused my valves to look this way?

Blane! I need your guidance bro
I've decided on my next project car - I want to do a 240SX (still not decided on a S13 or 14 tho as either would do but of course the S13's are cheaper) But the Sil80 S14's look so freaking ridiculous. Anyhow I'm going to do a 240SX w/ a vq35 swap since I know the motor pretty good Do you know anybody looking at selling a good condition 240sx rolling shell locally? I'm gonna be shooting for 600 corrected, but might try for uncorrected on pump gas Definately gotta go bigger turbo's than the 18g's this time around Do the S13/14 still have the R200 diff?

Will I dont think I will have it done this month, I have finals coming up and that will mess me all up. Hopefully sometime in May, June at the latest.
Justin-Get an S14 I hate the S13s they just dont drive nearly as well as the S14. There is a huge difference between them IMHO. You will have a very tough time going turbo on a V in the 240. For a really baller setup I reccomend either building a KA-T or SR, dropping in a 2JZ from a supra or an LS1, there are pre-made mounts for both those. 600 is a ton on a 240 remember that an S14 like mine is around 2800 lbs. I have been in one with 375 to the wheels uncorrected and it was stupid fast. If you go with the 2JZ or the LS1 then maybe but on the KA and SR you will need such a laggy turbo to get there that it is not worth it IMHO. But it all depends on your usage goals
Blake.

600 corrected is going to be completely out of control for an S chassis. 400 is more managable.

Heheh we'll see bro. Right now I'm trying to figure out how I can run w/ the stock ECU, asking around the boards. Since I pushed 500 hp&tq on my stock block high mileage vq35 reliably, I dont see a problem pushing it at least that high again. I definately wanna run the UTEC again, it was rock solid. Only this time I'll do a mild rebuild with the block and might build it to rev to 8k if I end up going single t. But depends on if a large T (GTK 850 or 1000) setup or if a TT (GTK 550's) setup is possible. My primary goal for now will be to do the swap and just get it running good n/a and then go up from there as money allows - vq engine aint cheap lol. But for now, just saving so I can pick up a decent s14 chassis. If I'm gonna spend the money on the vq again it's gonna be atleast 500hp, but I'm planning for a decent amount more and take advantage of the reduced weight. But I'll be able to feel it out with how the car performs with the vq once it's running and then go from there with the FI setup. I dont want to go too insane, but might as well make use of the vq35 and money spent
Can't wait to hear more about your build tho bro! Keep us posted!

Light update.
I picked up the motor from the machine shop yesterday and snapped some pics. Tasks performed are: Boil out block to clean it all out, bore .020" over and hone cyls, deck head surface with front timing cover, micro balanced crank. I will be taking the head in soon to get a full valve job along with full stainless valves and spings with titanium retainers.
