Default What to get?

Alright so we finally have a buyer (the owner of the north pole amusement park!) for my dad's 1986 porsche 911 and it's time to get a replacement.

The requirements are as follows:
1. Good on snow
2. 4+ seats
3. under 30k
4. Decent cargo space.
5. NOT an SUV or small truck
6. Needs to be quick (preferable 14's or better in the 1/4)
7. Manual trans. option
8. Not used (my dad trusts nobody)

So heres what i'm thinking...
1. Mazdaspeed6 (msrp over 30k but I got a quote of 27.5k on a gt)
2. Mazdaspeed3 (tough to test drive due to rarity)
3. Impreza wrx wagon (Looks better than the sedan but I'm still racist against subies)
4. GTI (A bit slower and also can get pricey)
5.Caliber srt-4 (not even out yet but i like the looks and power)
6. Legacy gt (boring looks IMO but a nice car)

You all live in colorado like me, so given our weather, and the fact that not only will I go to college in a year and might need to haul some stuff and this will probably be the last car I get for quite a while.... what would you get?

Right now I'm thinking probably one of the mazdaspeeds but I'm not sure if i would rather have AWD or lightweight/cargo room.

Oh and as far as use, it will basically be just every day commuting to and from school and my job is also driving my neighbor's daughter around. I also might take the occasional trip to bandimere for fun and might do some minor mods and maybe even take it to one of the forum's track days... if I think my ego can handle being smoked by a Z.

Ok so now that i've blabbed on and on for a few pages, what would you get in my position and why?

Thanks again
Kaiser

I hate to say it, but if your looking for an every day driver in Colorado I would not go GTI. Seems like it would be practical for winter, and rain for that matter, but it doesn't perform well in bad weather.

I would do an Evo....the RS is under 30K, if your talking cash from the sale of a 911.....you could talk down the price of a IX.

Since this is a Nissan board, I'll suggest the new '07 Altima SE. Nissan did a great job of making it the best handling FWD sedan on the market. The VQ35DE can now put down the power down without significant torque steer. Comes with a CVT or 6-speed and we tested it in the snow recently with good results.

Damn.... why did everyone have to vote for the lgt?

It's a good car and all but i don't see how it's any better than a speed6. It's more expensive, slower, less powerfull and worse looking (imo) The only thing it really has on a speed6 is some weight.
