Looks to be a video of the new upcoming track in Colorado??? Look sweet!!! Hopefully I'm around when it finish. If not, I'll think about driving North to run with the Colorado Z family.

Yes, it's an anime of a lap going each direction of high plains raceway.

The track has been designed to go CW, but can be run in either direction. When you go CW you will get a feel for which corner has a blind curve. Going to be very exciting.

I asked about stickers and patches for each person who donates in a group effort to get a brick.

Here is the reply---

When ANY contribution comes in, an acknowledgement letter with "Founding Contributor" stickers are sent out. If you've done your contribution as a group, Please attach a note saying it is a group effort and to "please send x number of stickers for our group" and we'll be glad to oblige. Ditto, patches. We're not making and sending out the patches until latter. They'll be sent out to Founding Contributors later as an Admittance Ticket to the Grand Opening. . At least that's the plan now. In any case, when patches are sent out latter, we'll try to remember to send out however many are needed for your group contribution. If we screw up, just ask.

Thanks for your group effort. It's very much appreciated.

Yeah, I'm thinking of buying a brick with my name on it. Kinda cool, and I REALLY want this track to open. Thnx for the updates, Darrel.

One more hurdle has been overcome. And they have a pretty good start from member donations.

Just released by CAMA: Formal approval of the zoning! Spread the news!

News Release, August 10, 2007:

Dear Members of the CAMA Clubs:

Tuesday the Arapahoe County Commissioners voted unanimously to formally write into law a zoning regulation amendment allowing amateur motorsport facilities in the Agricultural/Entertainment zone. This is a tremendous milestone in the development of High Plains Raceway. With the regulation change now complete, our USR (Use By Special Review) permit is a giant step closer to reality. The USR application has been submitted and is currently under review by the County.

Also this week positive news was realized from our application for highway access from Colorado Department of Transportation. The conditions of the permit are within the expectations already projected in our construction budget.

Contributions for the project have been pouring in briskly. As of this week, we have received over $136,679 from some 158 contributors. Thank you for making your contributions in a timely manner. Tell your friends you are a ‘founding contributor’. If you have not yet contributed, please mail it today! Remember, if for some reason the project doesn’t reach construction, you get all of your money back! We need everyone’s help to make HPR a reality.

For those who still want to learn more about the project, the CAMA clubs (SCCA, RMVR, RMR-PCA, MRA and MCCA) will each be holding presentations in the next few weeks, so watch for an announcement from your club. You should also contact your CAMA representative if you have questions. Contact info can be found at: highplainsraceway.com/contact.html

Progress continues with the loan program and we now have verbal commitments from nearly half the people required to fund the loan. As soon as the lawyers are finished with the loan agreement packages, we’ll be having those signed commitments added to the Capital Campaign results at www.HighPlainsRaceway.com. For now, the Capital Campaign progress you see is solely through contributions from our members.

With everything coming together on the permitting front, the excitement level is ramping up quickly. When our USR application is approved, CAMA will close on the property and, when the funding targets are complete, begin construction. The tremendous member support for this project is extremely gratifying and lifts our enthusiasm even higher.

Thank you,

Charlie Thompson,
CAMA Manager
