There has to be some more people. I know there are more than just us. Anthony, bring your car out! We know you want to. These are simple driving exercises. And on the track, you can drive as fast as you are comfortable. That's the whole idea of this event, is to learn and get comfortable driving on a track.

I am in. I wouldn't want to be THAT guy -- you know, the guy that causes you not to have enough people for the class.

I can send a check tonight, which would probably get there by Monday or Tuesday, or I can send via paypal today. What is your preference, David?

If it snows in the days before the event, you'll know why I'm not there.

Sweet! Just a few more! Gotta keep your fingers cross to have the bad weather now so we can have a decent day the day before and during the event.

Sean- Glad you decided to come! I bet the frozen pond in front of your driveway has thawed and your NISMO Z can make it out finally! You can send a check and let's keep our fingers crossed that the forcast remains clear.

Well the street I live on is MOSTLY thawed: there are just a couple of 50+ foot sections left where I kind of skate along for a bit...but hey, I'm driving the Z, so a few seconds of white-knuckle driving is worth it.

Saturday morning and the count continues to lag:

1. Dave90TT
2. tsabrale
3. Zrealsoon
4. 350ZMPH (from Mile Hi Z)
5. funkymonkey1111

Other possible entries:

6. Spivey
7. ColoradoClark

Unless we make up at least three more confirmed entries in the next 24 hours, this HPDC is going nowhere. Dave90TT's friend can't make it and no word from Matt Jonez or youngz33.

What is depressing is all the F/I owners that spent all that money and won't spend $150 to learn how to drive their car at full throttle on a closed course.

As mentioned before. This is much more than a racing event. David's class will make you a better driver on the public road as well!!!

Come on guys!!! Don't miss this. I'm considering of going to PMI after my JWT install in March. We all could attend an open track day and have a F/I battle!!!

dave,

is 10 the magic number for the track's purposes, or is 10 the magic number because we need $1500 in entries to pull this off?

if its the latter, i'm willing to chip in an extra $64 to have fewer people on the track. i know i don't speak for everyone on that, but even a $214 fee would be reasonable to have the entire track to yourself with 7 other guys.

I'll still pay my share if no one else signs up. That's ten entries, and nine cars to share the track. David, I will send you a check right now if you need to have the total amount collected right away, that way this track day can be confirmed. If someone else decides to participate then they can either pay me directly or you can just refund my fee? Let me know which way this will work out and if you need the check now. It's no problem to send it today if that's what you need. I am still going to attend the Optimum G seminar that day, but I also committed to making this happen. Wish there was a way I could do both.

It's both, we need a minimum of ten cars for an exclusive AND they want $1500 minimum to rent. Keep in mind that we will be doing exercises where you'll want to have the cars relatively close together. That way you can become better oriented and learn the line around the track faster! Later on in the afternoon we'll have more open track time and you'll find with 2.2 miles of track that you'll feel like it is a private track.

So I don't think the answer is having everybody pay more- if we can't get at least ten cars, I'm not sure it's worth putting on a HPDC. I regularly race with 15-20+ cars on track and even at race speed, cars spread out relatively quickly. It's how you handle yourself when you're around either faster or slower cars that make all the difference.

I spoke with Matt, and I thought he sent money via paypal a few days ago. He is going to doublecheck and make sure you get it. So he should be in. As he is my travel partner.

Thanks for checking on this- nothing from Matt on PayPal as of Saturday afternoon- let me know.

As for Resolute's offer, I think it's wonderful he feels this strongly. A lot of past and current particiapants have similar sentiments! However, before we take any money away from your kids mouths, let's see if we can get anyone else to commit.

David,

I couldn't get a check in the mail today, so I dropped you $150 +3% via PayPal, to cover their fees. Thanks for being such a staunch supporter of the Z community, even when we aren't showing are strength.

Looking forward to seeing all of you guys in a couple of weeks!

Not sure if anybody is into it, but I'm heading over to Gibby's on 1555South Havana to see the UFC fight tonight: starts at 8:00. If anybody is up for it, I'll be there with a couple of my buddies.
