It's Thursday, only two days before the Pueblo HPDC. A fresh blanket of snow this morning may be concerning, but roads should be clear later today. We're still on and the weather, although chilly, looks like it'll cooperate enough to get this event in!

Checked with the track and everything is set for tomorrow! I'm leaving to get up there today and will be at the track around 7ish. Our first classroom session will start promptly at 8:30 am. Please arrive early enough (and with a full tank of gas) so you have time to unload BEFORE that time.
Hmm, the Navi unit says its about 3 hours from here to there(2 and a half in a Z) . I'm very much leaning toward driving down there tonight and staying at a cheep hotel. Need to see how the day goes.
If I do make it there today, IHOP for sure.
Im also trying to think about what to bring for lunch that will stay fresh...
Looks like there are a few places to eat near the track.. but that would take away track time.. and thats not an option. :-)

Yeah, I will be heading out in a couple hours. I know there is going to be snow on the way, so I am going to try to encounter it while there is daylight. As far as IHOP is concerned, I definitely.

I was just unsure how feasable it is to head off to the food places...
Looks good though... I am packing some snacks etc, so no worries.

Well, I'm meeting David at the track to help setup, so if I go to IHOP, it will be at 6. Yes, I know, awful early, but thats the way it goes. If anyone cares to join me, let me know (719-325-9880)
I am pissed! Looks like the weather is not going to cooperate. I am in montrose on my iPhone. Right after montrose is pure mountain passes and heavy snow!!! I was lucky at first when heading up because I was following a snowplow. After the snow plow turned off 10 miles later I drove another 20 miles up the mountain. Talk about a scary drive... I got about 40 miles outside of gunnison before reaching a high enough gradient to where I was absolutely stuck!!!! I ended up getting help from someone to help push and turn car around to where I could drive back to montrose... Well going down the mountain was hell!! At one point I was in first with all four wheels sliding! I thought I was a goner but thank god for antilock breaks and clutch control!! Got back in control, but f***!!! This has been the longest I have driven in 2nd gear. Anyway, for everyone who can make it out, have a great time! I wish I could be there. At least I can say I really tried. I tried to make it with ultra performance summer tires summer tires and found they really suck *** in snow. Especially on steep moutain passes.... Anyway I am going to hit up a local coin wash to rinse off the snows, chemicals, and dirt and then head back to junction. I was thinking about i-70 but then I would be stuck on vail pass... Anyway, take care....

Wow, that sucks man... I have been hearing about the insane snow in the mountains all week. I wonder if I-70 is as bad... they do have a bunch of web cams online.... might help with scopeing the rout... I hope something works out for ya.

What also sucks is paying for a room I am not staying in. Oh well, eventually, I am going to make it to one of these.. So far, I am 0 for 2.

Damn it Joe! Don't let a little snow stop you!
Sorry you can't make it man, if it makes you feel any better I have run into issues too...
My new rotors and pads came in today around 5pm, so I got right to work changing them out. I only had to do the front two tires, so I thought this would be no big deal. Wrong, I can't get one of the caliper bolts off.
So either I swap back in my old rotor and pads on the drivers side to match, or pray I can find a shop sometime late tomorrow morning to finish the job for me. I've tried everything short of taking a blow torch to my caliper.
At this point with it being so late I think I'm going to get to sleep and probably miss the first 1/4-1/2 of the day.
I'm so pissed off right now, of all the thing holding me back it's one ****ing bolt.
If anyone knows of any shops on the south end of the springs, or even pueblo feel free to let me know. Number is 719-494-4638, if someone could call me before the class starts.
