As you guys know I just bought a 1999 Skyline GT R-34 N/A. I have just got a quote for 1800 bucks to do an engine swap for a 1998 R-33 Turbo?? Should I do it??

if I had any knowledge on the subject my reply would probably mean more, but the fact that one is turbo and one isn't, i would say go for it.. lol

I'm keeping the car, just looking at swapping out my N/A engine for a year older turbo version.

Don't do it. I love the R34, just tune that up.

If your gonna swap at the minimum you have to do the RB26DeTT. I think it would be a waste otherwise. Go big or go home.

Just wondering why you bought this one if you wanted a Turbo Skyline?

Because most Skylines on the island are beat to hell, this one is in perfect shape. Plus it has zero mods, so its like a clean slate for anything I want to do to it.

where are you going to really run it on Okinawa? I would just bank the COLA and get something fun when you get home....or rebuild an engine or two and send them home to put in a 240 when you get back stateside.

No, if I were in your shoes, I'll go to main land to find a good GT-R and ship it to the island. Enjoy it while you are there. Before you leave, sell it for a profit. It's like having a cake and eat it too.
