Thumbs up Moving to Texas...

Yeap its a done deal. Ada and myself are packing up and saying good-bye Colorado, hello Texas. We have been going back and forth for some time about Ada staying in Colorado or not. Well this week Ada will be interviewing and talking to some realtors and putting the house up for sale. She seperates the AF this June and will be moving to Houston. As soon as the house sells I'll be joining her. So it looks like this passed vacation to Colorado was my last. While Colorado hasn't been my best experience I did meet some good people; Andrew/Sara, Dave/Jen, Will/Becky, David, Gary, Aaron etc... and some others not on this forum. There has been good times and bad times but its time for Ada and I to move on. Texas is home for us and we're looking forward to settling down in the Great State.

Robert-

Best of luck to you and Ada on the impending move to Texas! It's one of the great freedoms we have- choosing where you want to live. Hope your Z has a long and happy life out there!

Thanks Daivd. And Thanks for opening me up to HPD. Looks like NASA Texas is huge and a lot different tracks are available throughout the state.

Texas has been home since I was a kid. Grew up in Houston and station there when I was active duty. Also, all my family is in Houston. So it will be nice to finally be close to them. Yankee by birth, Texan by grace of God.

i considered moving to texas few months ago from Orange County but backed out.
Houston is too hot and too humid and too darn cold in winter (not as cold as colorado but still) I agree with funkymonkey, "Houston's a toilet"

I recommend Austin. It's the best city to live in Texas. Even so, Austin is still darn too hot.

I guess I am used to 75 degree temperature in Orange County California.

You choose where you want... I'll choose where I want to live. I didn't like Colorado therefore I'm moving to where I'll be happy.

1) I hate the cold weather & snow
2) I don't like to ski, snowboard, hike, or camp
3) I feel that most, not all cause I have met some great friends, of the people are snobby, stuck-up, and just have this "I'm better than you" atitude.
4) And if you don't agree with them, you're wrong.

I'm not trying to say everyone has to love Texas. Texas is not for everyone. I'm saying that Colorado isn't for me. For those that enjoy the cold weather, snow, and the outdoors camping stuff, Colorado is great. But I don't enjoy that stuff and perfer living in a large city with history and a friendly community where everyone gets along.

EDIT:
5) Cost of living! It's overpriced and too expensive.

Thanks John. Sorry we missed seeing each other. I'll let Ada know about the help you're offering. She'll be moving without me there and the USAF is paying for the packing/move. However she'll be doing a partial ditty move with my brother and father.

When you deploying? If you come through Kuwait let me know and I'll meet you out here.

To those mentioned above... I wish you all the best and hopefully we stay in touch. If you're ever passing/visiting Texas please feel free to hit me up and I'll make sure to show you some great areas and things to do.
