Default I'm moving to Denver, CO

Hello all you Colorado people. I'll be leaving my home in Charlotte, NC of the past 16 years to move out west. I feel it is time for a change in my life and I have friends and family in CO, so I think it will be a good move for me. I'll be moving around the end of May.

I'll be bringing my Z obviously, however, I will need to have it tuned for 91 octane Unless you guys can tell me where I can find some 93 or higher. I'm very particular with my car, so I was wondering if you all could recommend a quality shop that does good work and tuning.

I'm also looking to buy a Subaru Impreza 2.5rs, so if anyone knows of one for sale, please let me know. I have to prepare for a few months of snow, I don't have to deal with that in Charlotte haha.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Derek

i just replied to your pm, it really depends on what EMS you'll be running for who should tune. Also, for a subie, check out the local awd forum awdpirates.net ive seen a few rs's on there in the past few months.

Derek,

First congrats on the move. You sound excited about it. Colorado has some great people. Be lucky that you're going with a F/I Z vs. N/A. The elevation kills power. Anyhow, Moe at Speed Image is very knowledgable and hands down all about customer satifaction. So give him a ring for any work you'd like completed. Nick at MAC autosport has done most of our N/A & F/I tunes. Watch out for Bill though... he's all about the dollar. I'm sure others will chime in with thier suggestions as well.

For the most part Colorado Z/G owners are a great bunch. Most of them live in the Denver area so it will be easy for you to meet them. And all enjoy some form of motorsports with their car. Make sure to check out www.MileHighZ.com/forum for local events.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the quick responses.

Andrew thanks for the PM, I PMed you back.

And thanks for the info Robert, I'll have to check those shops out.

I am very excited to move there. When I was out visiting in February, I was convinced. I'm flying out there again on the 30th of April till the 5th of May to take some of my stuff out there. My old teamate/roomate of 4 years from college lives out there so I have a place to live.

I figured, I'm young (24) and I have nothing tying me down, so why the hell not.

Welcome in advance! I was in Winston-Salem while going to school and drove all the way here TWICE. You are in for quite a long haul. Good luck and we'll see you soon. Best twisties in the country babay!

P.S.: You can get 93 octane at some stations here but it costs a premium of course. Definitely not a practical choice due to availability alone.

www.zccc.org is the local z club. We meet the first wednesday of every month near mile high stadium.

The z club is also a part of the group that will be building our new local road course.

Thanks everyone who has replied. The transition from Charlotte to Denver doesn't it seem like it will be too bad. Look forward to meeting all of you.

Just to be different............Here are the shops I would recommend.

Boulder Nissan
TC's Automotive&Performance

The latter is the best if you want a great tune. Both places do phenomenal work.

I have lived here my whole life. If you have any specific questions let me know.

They sell 100 octane a mile from my house. 5.99 gallon and it hasn't changed in price in 2 years. I am curious going from your elevation to a mile high where you hp goes. There is alot of debate on the subject...you could be the one to put it down on the down/paper. Maybe I missed the post, what is your setup and what is your hp?
P.S. Welcome to the cold snowy icebox...thank God your coming in spring, it is awesome here the next 5 months!
