Time to Reflect (Denver Bachelor Party)
I took possession of my Z back in October 2003 and been enjoying it ever since. After approximately $9,000 in gas, fifty quarts of oil, multiple tires, brake pads, fluids, one windshield, feathered tires, two window motors, two clicking axes, some faulty fuel lines, and more front bumper rock chips than I need, it’s yet to see a new transmission. I’ve driven it through four years of Colorado snow storms and our magnesium chloride coated roads, and it’s been on the tracks of Bandimere, La Junta, Pueblo, Second Creek, Colorado State Patrol, and even all the way to NM Sandia. The driver’s side has been “modified” by an oblivious Suburban driver soccer mom and the rear accidentally backed into the garage. It’s been listed for sale on Autotrader, but fortunately never sold. From the time I went to Littleton Nissan to “just look” at the 350z to today, I’ve gotten more out of than I ever thought.
I remember the first drive with the group. Pulling up to Colorado Mills with Joe saying to David M. “he looks like one of us”. Also I vividly recall the look that Gary gave me when I told him that I wasn’t planning on attending a track event. I got a similar look a few months later when I asked Gary if my brakes were supposed to be smoking after a few laps at La Junta.
This May 17th my Z will drive me and my new wife from our wedding ceremony to our reception. All this means for this thread is an invitation to my Bachelor Party to all my friends who I have meet through the Southwest forum, mountain Drives, track days, and get togethers. Or even if any one needs an excuse to have a few drinks and see a few ***** you’re welcome to come. Basically I just want it to be a big get together with all my friends before the shackles of marriage.
It will be on Saturday the third of May. The initial plan is Paintball in the afternoon, dinner at the Chophouse, and then bars afterwards.
So if anyone is interested, just PM me your e-mail and I’ll add you to an E-vite my Best Man is setting up for the Bachelor Party.
Thanks to all,
David

David- Great summary of your time in the Z. It's been a great ride for many of us and you have some great memories!. Unfortunately, I'll be traveling out-of-the country on May 3rd , so I won't be able to attend the BP. I hope the Colorado Z group will send Bottom out in fitting style! I'll certainly be there in spirit and look forward to seeing you on the other side of those vows...
Thanks Dave! Too bad you won't be able to make it.
So far there will a little over 20 of us. Not everyone is doing everything that is scheduled for that day. We have enough where we have our own field for paintball. I'm really looking forward to it. Not the next day, but it should be fun.

Damn David! I thought your Z was long gone by now! I don't know what all I can do that night but I will PM you my email. Congrats! You kinda make it sound like not so much a life changing event but a life ending event...It will be what you make it, so buck up lil' camper!

Thanks for the Congratulations.
Sean: Yeah I still have my Z. It's tough with the new house payment, but I'm glad I still have it. I really like your advice on 'it's what you make it'. I just wanted to throw out the pre wedding cliche, but I'm really excited to get married to Tara. I'm really looking forward to our new life together. (Ahhhhh)
Sean and Spivey, I added you to the E-vite. Hopefully you can make it to any of the events.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. Even from Darrel, I think.
I was thinking that a Track event would be great. Hopefully I can make it to at least make one this summer. My wedding is actually the day of the NASA event on the 17th. I wonder if anyone will mind if I’m a little late and smelling of gasoline?

Hey David. Congrats man! Sorry for the late response but I don't go on My350 much anymore. Also, excellent write up as well. I thinks it's NissanSports Mag. quality there.
I work that day but I get off at 7PM. If you guys are still out parting, I'll be more than happy to meet up and celebrate your future prison life. It's the least I can do since you did allowed me to sleep with you
If you don't have my # anymore, I'll pm it to you again.

Phu, ha. Well It’s better than sleeping in the Z, I guess.
It’s actually a good thing you won’t be able to meet up for paint ball. I would hate for you to mix up your guns and the headlines the next day would be either, “Twelve Critically Injured at Paintball facility” or “Criminals Arrested with Multicolored Markings”. Just give me a call when you’re heading down and I’ll let you know where we’re at. That goes for anyone too, if you just want to meet up for drinks.
Thanks,
David

David, congrats on the nuptials! As luck would have it, I am getting married the same day (May 17th)! A couple of differences... my wedding will be out in California, and we are having a wedding shower locally on the 3rd... depending on how late that lasts, I may have to slip out and go take up with you guys
Hey congratulations to you too. It seems to be a popular summer for weddings. I have five more to go to this year. I'll PM you my cell phone number, so just give me a call if you can meet up. I apologize in advance if I'm to too coherent or understandable at that point.
Thanks,
David

Wow David, great post. Thanks for bringing back all those great memories, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding! Sorry to have missed this post for so long...I didn't realize how long it had been since I had logged in here.
Thanks for the bachelor party invite, too. I'd love to join y'all, but unfortunately I've got conflicting plans that I can't change. Have fun, though, since it'll be the last fun you're EVER going to have!
(Just kidding about that last part, of course!)

Gary: Thanks for the congrats.
Yeah, I’m still feeling the affects from this weekend. I had a great time. Paintball was a blast. It was an indoor place near Colorado and Smith. Our group was big enough were it was just us against each other. A few welts, but no fatalities.
Dinner at the Chophouse was also awesome, a little expensive, but worth it. I think everyone else liked it too.
The bars… well from what I remember it was a fun time to be had by all. We went to the Celtic, Crocs, and La Boheme. Looking though the pictures its fun to see what went on. A bit embarrassing, but who cares.
I stayed in bed most of Sunday. Not a super bad hang over, but a good reminder of how much I drank.
Pretty much just stupid fun and it was just a good excuse to get everyone together. It was a great weekend. Plus the wedding’s still on, woot
