I saw the NASA announcement, but wonder about the details. On the SCCA RMDiv site, one knowledgable poster stated that a drainage pipe under the track has not been maintained, resulting in millions of dollars of damage to T1 (which is used as part of the roval). Outside that, who is Dave B. dealing with to get onto PPIR? Has there been (or will there be) any maintenance to the road course.
I raced at PPIR until it closed and the roval was entertaining. One critical area is coming off the front straight banking and onto the acceleration pit-out lane that became T1 for the road course. The car tended to bottom a bit at that particular point and I'd want to make certain the pavement was in good shape before flying in there.
I hope more details become available and wish NASA (and everybody else) the best of luck in racing at PPIR in the future!
