There's a separate thread on the 9/6/03 ZCCC Second Creek Raceway event in the same SW forum as this thread. What kind of info do you need?

Joe, do I know you?

Yeah, we met at Papadeux' one afternoon. You don't remember? Even after what transpired? I'm amazed that you can't recall.

Dennis, I can't believe that you have been able to skirt this issue for so long. It's actually kinda cool in seeing the morphing of attitude(s) as time goes on. Will you wilt under pressure?

Joe
Papadoodeux? I can't recall.

Remember? Was there something that I should remember? Oh, were you the guy with smallish feet and fingers? You dog you!

Transpired/can't recall? You came and left so quickly; is that what you meant peanut butter cup?

Dennis, August 25th >>> Your last chance to step up to the plate. It's amazing that Dennis would dis Sport Z by not ordering the mag. Can I hear an "amen." Anybody else in our mountain gang who is "subscription short?" Stunning!

Dennis, and whomever, where are your flippin' orders?

Damn, this shouldn't be so hard.

I know we are also trying to determine a route.
Would anyone be interested in a Sat/Sun overnight drive down to Durango via Ouray and then over Red Mtn Pass?
I know it is a bit of a trek and would require a hotel stay, but thought I'd see if anyone else would be interested in taking what I feel is the most scenic drive in this entire country.
Post any feedback you may have, or any ideas that you may have as to a route you might wanna take.

Brian -- I just took that drive a few weeks ago when Marlene was here on her visit. It is a blast to drive even in an Audi doing 3MPH over Red Mountain Pass [flatlander sickness]. I'm game again.

Looks like the fall issue will be in the mail by the end of next week. I guess everybody but Dennis will be getting our best yet.

Dennis, what the hey?

Our car is not welcome at that meet. If you notice they're all older sports cars. I wonder if it was just put like that to keep out the Honda ricers though.

...not to mention that it's the same day as the ZCCC track event at SCR.

Reading through their forum, apparently they consider the Z a sport compact
Posted on Friday, August 08, 2003 - 12:01 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Evo's and STI's are sport compacts. Even though they are very fast and can keep up with most of the "ALL SPORTS CAR", they are Sport Compacts (Pocket Rockets).

In other words, this Gathering is for TRUE SPORTS CAR and they do not fall under that catagory.

FWIW, RX8 should also fall under the STI/EVO rule. 350Z is a fine line but IMO just makes the TRUE SPORTS CAR. It can be considered by many to be a Sports compact.

That information is not correct! I checked with the guys hosting this event before I posted -- 350Zs are more than welcome to attend this meet, which is why I posted it (I certainly wouldn't invite myself to another meet without making sure that we were invited first). Although, you are correct in that they are trying to limit this to the "higher-end" cars.

I would be up to join the other sports cars as I can't make it to much if any of the ZCCC event.

Mudd - I would also be very willing to do a weekend trip down and around through Durango...if we do though I would be forced to have my parents attend a dinner and would probably ditch you guys for a short time to say hello.

Well I think we should plan on this drive to Durango. I think it would be a great time, and a fine event as we close in on what little is left of the nice weather.

Daryl..........I don't see it as a problem that you would wanna hang with your parents while there. I would most certainly do the same if my parents lived there too.

So who all is in for sure? Sounds like Bob, Daryl, myself, anyone else?..........Is the weekend of the Sept. 13th good for everyone? Does everyone wanna do this route for sure?

Daryl, can you e-mail this to the group to see if there is any interest.

Yeah I logged onto co3s.org to find out for myself and we're more than welcome to come. I think I'll be going to that. Don't know if I'm up for a drive to durango though, that's a bit too far for me to go just for a drive. Now if there was a stripclub and casinos there, I'd be all over it.

Jessie..............If you were to see the beauty of the area in and around Ouray, and the fact that Durango is a pretty cool town it might change your mind. I am sure there is a Titty Bar in Durango, even people in far away places need to look at naked chicks. Daryl should know.......he is from there and I have heard he goes to them alot! All in good fun Daryl.

Titty bar? If there isn't I am sure that is an oversight. I don't know any off hand, but I am sure they are there.

As for a casino...you betcha. Ignacio Colorado just East and a little South of Durango only about 20 miles has a decent Casino (Sky Ute Lodge and Casino...might be a place to stay overnight even). They have blackjack, 3-card poker, slots, etc. They used to have live poker but not sure if they have that anymore or not.

I used to work security there so I know that place decently well.

All, I will be in Australia 17SEP - 02OCT so any date after the 13th I wouldn't be able to make. I also might have a paintball tourney in Houston on the 6th but am not sure if the team is going to make it or not. Whatever date is settled on, I will certainly try to make. the Z hits storage when I get back in October so hopefully we can get a run in. take care all.

So what all does everyone want to do? Do we want to go to Durango or somewhere a little more close?
