Default Good dealers in Colorado (front range)?

Hello-

I was hoping some good Z owners might have some insight into which dealers are good to work with, have good techs, and overall good and trustworhty techs/general managers?

I have been immersed in the Subaru community for the past 8 years (02 WRX and 04 STi - both modified to run 12's at Bandi on pump gas) and I knew which dealers and more importantly which techs were good along the front range. I live up in Fort Collins but am willing to travel down to Denver or up to Cheyenne.

From searching on this site it seems that a few people recommended Tyans in Aurora and I got another suggestion from a long time Nissan enthusiast for GO Nissan in Arapahoe.

I recently purchased a 2009 GTR and am very concerned about finding a good trustworthy dealership to service it. I would like to use the same one starting as early as possible to start and build a repor and history with. I would prefer one closest to Fort Collins if possible but I really understand the value of good people so I am willing to drive further on a good recommendation.

I purchased my GTR from Valley Nissan in Longmont since they gave me a fair price and honestly the GM there was a decent guy who stuck to his word. The tech there seems to be a good guy as well, but, from my early talks with him, not as much of an enthusiast. In my experience the best Subaru techs were also big enthusiasts who tended to pay much more attention to detail than normal (you know good ol' **** folk like myself [heh]).

From the nissan website it looks like the following dealerships are 'GTR certified'

EHRLICH NISSAN
2625 35TH AVE
GREELEY, CO 80634

VALLEY NISSAN
1005 KEN PRATT BLVD
LONGMONT, CO 80501

BOULDER NISSAN
2285 28TH ST
BOULDER, CO 80301

HALLADAY NISSAN
1880 WESTLAND RD
CHEYENNE, WY 82001

GO NISSAN 104TH
2400 W 104TH AVE
DENVER, CO 80234

EMPIRE LAKEWOOD NISSAN
10345 W COLFAX AVE
LAKEWOOD, CO 80215

GO NISSAN SOUTHWEST
5067 S WADSWORTH BLVD
LITTLETON, CO 80123

LARRY MILLER NISSAN
5001 S BROADWAY
ENGLEWOOD, CO 80113

GO NISSAN ARAPAHOE
10030 E ARAPAHOE RD
CENTENNIAL, CO 80112

Anyway I would appreciate any and all recommendations and/or horror stories that anyone has to offer.

Thanks!

Go Nissan at Arapahoe is where I bought my Z and have nothing but good things to say about their service department (except one service advisor; let's not talk about her). They just put in a new engine in mine last week and did a great job. In fact, each time I went during that work, they had at least 1 GT-R there. Some for their 1K checkup and others pre-delivery. Ask for Gene Meadows in service if you do go there and tell him Usman with the red Z recommended him. Each service advisor has his/her assigned team of techs and Gene's Master Tech 'Del' is the only one there certified on the GT-R. Nice, unassuming guy who is fun to chat with (as is Gene himself).

Boulder Nissan hands down for all warranty work. Talk to Eric in parts or Jason the owner.

Sorry for the OT comment...... Usman, did you have oil consumption problems or what?

Thanks for the suggestion. Just curious is the woman you didn't want to mention named Elsbeth by chance? I ask because the other good recommendation I got for Go Nissan @ Arapahoe the person suggested I deal with her and a tech named Don. The person who suggested that though did not suggest it in the context of GTR certfied techs.

Ok so that is 2 (one not on this board) votes for Nissan GO @ Arapahoe and one for Boulder.

Please keep the suggestions and or horror stories coming, I really appreciate it!

Yes, that is her indeed. I in fact called and complained about her with the service manager afterwards. She is one of those people who seem perpetually pissed off. While dropping off the car for OC test, I casually mentioned that my TPMS was always off by as much as 3psi, and her response was, "You didn't study Physics in high school? Air compresses when cold". Her tech (not sure if his name was Don) was quite a ***** too but that's another story. Anyway, she called a few hours later to say oil was "completely full". When I came to pick it up and checked the level in front of her, sure enough it was at halfway mark. No apologies, no admission of guilt, just "bring it back later and we'll see again".

That was last November and car had to be stored the following week for the winter. So this year I just dealt with Gene. Had worked with only him for warranty service in the past too. No sure why I ever bothered with Elspeth last time. Besides, if you call in for GT-R service, Gene is the only one you will get to work with. Him and Del are the only two allowed to "handle" GT-Rs there.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Check - avoid Elsbeth [heh]. Sounds like my only choice is to NOT deal with her anyway =).
