Default Black 350Z at Tucson SCCA AutoX 01/18/04, what happened?

Just wondering if you are out there!!! I'm a regular at the Tucson events but was unable to attend last Sunday. I heard through the grapevine that a black 350Z had a small accident with some front-end damage without injury to the driver. Anyone know anything else???

You missed an adventure.

That would be me, embarrased to admit.
I'm fine and am working with insurance now to get the car fixed. It drives fine - no engine damage.
I had TCS turned off (stupid) and went too hot into a corner on my last run. The car did a nice spin into the dirt and smacked a bush.
I must say, lots of other folks spun off the track, too, but nobody hit anything.
A road course is quite different from your run of the mill cones and corners.

Thankfully, the damage is mainly the bumper and the edge of the fender. The headlight assembly is fine.

My first event in AZ and I do the unthinkable.

Well I'm glad you didn't get hurt. My first event I spun out several times, but didn't hit anything. I usually run the Tucson events but I didn't want to enter the one at Pinal because I had heard some bad stories from a buddy in the Porsche club. I haven't informed my insurance company of my Autoxing and I knew the Pinal Airpark event would be more like a real road course.

Did you just move to AZ? I'm usually the only 350Z running in Tucson and Sierra Vista. You should think about running in the SV event on Feb. 1st. PM me and I can give you the details.
