Default California Speedway January 22, 2005

I'm relatively a new Z owner and inviting other Z owners out to the 1/4 mile track. I'll be testing out my Enthusiast stock (I have to make sure it does the manufacture stated times ). I'm sure there are other stock/modified owners out there that has been to the 1/4 mile track, and all are welcome to come!

Info:

Meet up at the AM/PM or the Carl's Jr. Parking Lot (if its too crowded at the AM/PM) around 7:45am on the NW corner of Cherry and Valley. We leave around 8:00am.

California Speedway info:

WHO: Street legal drag racers, spectators and media

WHAT: NHRA Street Legal Drag Racing Dragway.

WHEN: Saturday, January 22, 2005

WHERE: California Speedway, 9300 Cherry Avenue, Fontana
The quarter-mile California Dragway is located in Parking Lot 1 behind the speedway's main grandstands. When you enter California Speedway, they'll point to where you have to go (hard to get lost).

TIME: Line up starts at 8:00am, Tech inspection at 10:00am, Racing starts at 12:00pm. Because this is the first time I've been to California Speedway at 8:00am, my estimates are based on the time intervals of the previous noon races (this is the first time I ever went early in the morning!).

COST: For participants and fans, the price is $10 per person to enter the speedway and $10 for race participants to purchase a Tech Card ($20 total for racers).

Wear: You MUST have long pants and a shirt with sleeves if you race! A helmet if your car is under 14's in the 1/4 mile. I repeat, make SURE you WEAR long pants, shirt, and shoes!

Need To Know: (Estimated Time)

line up 8am

tickets on sale 10am

tech inspec. 10am

racing starts 12pm

racing ends 7pm

Just a side note, California Speedway is currently overhauling their 1/4 mile track, so expect some changes on how you launch. A side note, for those who worry about insurance, your car is NOT covered if you hit a wall.

Schedule of California Speedway & Rules:
http://www.californiaspeedway.com/t...rniaDragway.jsp

I will update this post if there is any change in times or conditions.

Smile If we Bring a TT - Can We Sand Bag?

If we Bring a TT - Can We Sand Bag?

The Greddy TT car has been a "Go To Show Car" and has Best 350Z at the Mossy Show. San Diego.

The car is Street Stock - and in the process of Dialing in the fuel maps in E-Manage.

This might be fun... But - the owner would not be out to win, just to log the A/F information on a Safe and Sane track. Just a presence for My350z...

Cheers Amy -

I don't know all the terms of a track, so sand bag is new to me...........

California Speedway is a 10 sec rule track, and yes they have plenty of sand at the end of the 1/4 mile.........

Good part is, usually there is a 2 hour lag time in between each run to snooze. Since it's starting early, I suspect alot of people won't come till around noon.

Hey FLZ, I may come along and see if I can break into high 13's now that I have new tires. Make sure you drop your rear tires down to 25psi or else it'll be like marbles.

I was intially thinking of starting off at 35 PSI, but reading these forums and recommendations are starting to scare me into lowering my pressure .

I hope to see you there, I'll be at the track when the gates open.

Due to the amount of people coming, I changed the location of the meet to Carl's Jr.s Parking Lot, just after AM/PM. We'll be leaving the lot at 7:00am.

Yes, I'll remember! LoL

I've been looking forward to this date! I have even turned down some street racing just to make sure I have my car that day... I hate the 30 day mandatory impound if you know what I mean.

Anyway, what time is everyone supposed to get there? Like by 6 or 630???

If you guys want I can also offer the shop for a spot to meet, unless you rather just have it there? From what I've seen in other forums, a couple of other sites are also gonna use that spot as a "meeting place", so it might just be crowded... Just a suggestion.

Changing the meet spot now, would confuse some people. Some people view the post, but never register to come and they sometimes don't even read the posts if there is a change in meeting locations.

I'll have to agree, that that it MIGHT get crowded. To my experience, it hasn't gotten too crowded. In addition, its an early morning time. I do know there will be approxiamtely another 12 other cars comming to that Carl's Jr. Lot at 6:45am, because I orgainized another meet. Because this is the opening of the first drag season on new pavement, I do expect more than usual to be attending.

I prefer the meet up time to be at 6:45 am. Get your Carl's or AM/PM snacks and we leave for California Speedway at 7:00am (We will literally leave at this time). If your late or the WORST happens (Carl's Jr.'s lot is full of cars), you can just head to California Speedway, gates open at 7:00pm.

BTW, what is your shop location Nastyboy?

It's 4myride.com, we're on Airport Blvd, by Ontario Mills. We usually take Airport to Cherry Ave. and hang a left to the track.

Regardless, I understand what you mean about people not checking. Maybe next time.

Besides, I'm still trying to figure out how I'm gonna be there soo damn early

What other clubs/forums did you set up to meet there?

Certainly, its a location we can do next time.

I use to have a PT Turbo, and I would gather other PT Cruiser drivers to the track, but its more of a time we kick back and yak all day long (some are not that old). I spent most of my time taking pics or filming than running on the track. I just basically post the times when California Speedway is open and just list out the peeps comming.

I'm not a hard core track runner, my Z will probably only see 3 runs and that's about it for the rest of its ownership. I like to make sure my car does close to the manufacturer stated times, if it doesn't there is gonna be a problem (I don't like buying cars that can't do close to their manufacture stated times). I plan to stay stock and be a good boy and not race (Ultra Yellow stands out too much).
