3/26 Dyno Day Results
For those who were interested in some of the dyno numbers.
My 05 UY Enthusiast @ ~ 6,000 miles.
Cool down period of 3hours:
258.6 WHP 250.0 WTQ (Actual Results)
249.4 WHP 241.1 WTQ (SAE Corrected)
Driving on the freeway for 35 miles and dynoing within 5 minutes:
234.6 WHP 220 WTQ (SAE Corrected)
Yes these are peak numbers, and I'm too lazy to buy a digital camera.
Other Z's and G's, please post your numbers here.

Hey, it was nice meeting you and the others! Anyway, here's my info...
HP 236 (SAE)
TQ 223 (SAE)
Mileage ~15,850
Virtually stock. See sig for link to mods, but the ones that probably would affect the dyno are K&N drop-in and UTR CF tube.
I dynoed after almost 1 1/2 hour cool down (w/ hood closed) after running between 80-100 on the freeway for 35 miles.

I had a great time. Met lots of people, got to get in on several technical discussions.
My numbers (don't have the data file yet, just going off the graph):
HP: 248.0 (SAE) @ 6600-6700
Torque: 227.3 @4800
2003 G35 coupe 5AT
popcharger
Z-tube
Crawford V5 plenum
Motordyne 1/4" spacer
UR crank pulley
polished popcharger ring, throttle body, inside of Crawford, lower plenum, intake manifold
ported inlets of lower plenum, throttle body
portmatched everything on intake side of engine
I was pretty happy with the numbers. The car was only 219 WHP on a dynojet with a Z-tube.

By the way, I noticed that on your chart you have a "dip" at about 5200rpm. Mine looks very similar (but with an even larger dip in the same place). The chart at the top of this page looks pretty even though. I wonder why its dipping like that?
Brian (is glad someone elses chart does the same thing)
Oh, and my best run was the third which made 245.5 hp (actual)

It was interesting listening to the differences of all the exhausts too. Brian, i think yours was the loudest. Don't know why yours is louder than the other Z with invidia exhaust, but you'll see in the vid. On the 5200 rpm, i don't know why it dips there, it would be interesting to see if other Z's or G's have the same dip there. I would have thought mine would slope more smoothly with slightly more top end with all the breathing i put on my Z. My A/F is solid though, i guess the TS flash is working well for the 2003 models.
previous post above i meant 256/242 SAE
267.98 uncorrected

well, i kinda went on the dyno and left. didn't really have a chance to talk to anyone (hell, i didn't even know anyone). next time next time i guess.
i didn't know we could get an actual data file! what do they transfer it on, floppy, CD, sony memory stick? guess i'll be goin' back after some mods. i don't have the graph with me, but my best number was only 236.2HP, can't remember the torque number off the top of my head. overall a good experience, and a great price.

I only did 2 runs.... the better of which was my 2nd.
SAE: Peak HP - 325, Peak TQ - 301
A/F was pretty steady throughout at ~ 12
After the 2nd run, I had the MotorDyne 1/2" Plenum Spacer installed by Tony (Thanks Tony!!), but I didn't get a chance to Dyno it. I'm expecting another 10-15 hp gain from the spacer (*fingers crossed*). I will definitely get it dyno'd again before I make any other mods to it.
btw, I'm running the GReddy Twin Turbo at stock psi (~5.6)

Monster pinging @ 6200rpms and up. Considering the power line should keep growing (kinetix plenum), could've been in the mid 260's. Non-corrected # was 270.
I think I need to go back to TSQ to pull some more timing out from the top. Finally got my digimoto scan tool and got it working with my pocket PC, so I'm going to do some obd2 datalogged runs soon to see what my timing looks like.

Comparison of my recent run in blue with an old one (pre-ECU) from another dyno to show where the power line peaks when it's not knocking at 6200.
Couldn't be happier with my air/fuel though.

BTW, you need a USB key drive for the data file.

For those of you who have your data files, do you mind posting your files so that I can compare them with mine? I'm posting mine for anyone who's interested...

i don't think i need to dyno each part for everyone's sake, as most of the numbers are pretty much established. but i do need to dyno to see where my a/f is, don't want the car to go BOOM!

ps-USB key drive, eh? i wonder if that's how all the dyno shops around here do it
