a bad alignment would cause problems on any car, its nothing to sue a company over, especially the company that gave us our wonderful car.

Why would you say that there are a bunch of people trying to get money? These are just other owners who are continuously having the same problems with feathering. It's a hassle alone to have to bring your car in for this problem more than once and that's assuming that Nissan foots the bill but when they don't, it becomes and expensive ongoing repair. You should consider yourself lucky that you don't have this problem with your Z. Unfortunately there are a lot who aren't as lucky and have to go through this and all they want are their cars to run without any problems.

This whole thing is a crock of crap.
Yes, there are SOME '03 Z's that have a problem, but not ALL of them. If it was a design flaw, then EVERY '03 Z would have the feathering problem. Mine does not, and I know a lot of others don't either. If all 35,000 '03 Z's had the problem the feds would have been all over this, and there would have been a massive recall by Nissan. Think about it for a minute. If there are 5000 people on the Z boards (approx) and maybe 30-40 vocal individuals complaining about the feathering issue, this is a VERY small percentage of total '03 Z owners with this issue (thay we on the boards know of)
You know that TV news will jump all over anything that is controversial, it's great for ratings. If the guy who started this all thinks that he did the rest of us Z owners a favor, think again.
Class action lawsuit? The only winner here is the lawyer. If you think that this will get Nissan to buy your car back under the lemon law, think again.
If the dealer could not get the car to go straight, then there is a problem with the DEALER and the way he is aligning the car. Unless the suspension is damaged, or the front end is really tweeked, there is no way that a proper alignment can't make a car track straight.
I had a professional alignment done on my early production (November 02) '03 Z as soon as I replaced the wheels and tires, about 2 months after I took delivery. First set went at 17k, when the rears were down to the wear bars. Fronts still had plenty of rubber, and no feathering. I have 28k on the car right now, and never had any feathering issues or alignment issues. If the people who are having issues would spend some money and have a proper MECHANICAL alignment done, I would bet the the feathering issue would be solved.
