Default Audio install cost... How much?

Wondering if you all could give me a 'ballpark' figure on how much this will cost in SoCal. Here is what I'm looking to do :

- Installation of double-din h/u (Kenwood DDX7015)
- Installation pair of front spkrs. in factory locations
- 2 amps + sub in trunk space

For the sub + amps in the trunk, I'm basically looking at an installation like something pictured below (Brian's Z on Import Racer mag) minus the NX bottles of course :

Any feedback would help =)

If it's just putting everything on and hooking everything up then probably 200-300. If there's custom fabricating involved then maybe add 100 more. I would recommend you buy it from the shop and have them do it. Usually they give you a discount but still will try to hustle you lol.

Looks like there will need some custom cutting in the trunk if you want to flush mount the subs and amp... plus PITA to get door speakers in... I was thinking $500+

Yeah the speakers are a quite PITA. If you have the Bose system expect to pay even more for the complexity.

Thanks for the input guy's.... Is that all it will cost? I was thinking in the range of $1k ~$2K easy, for the install. I'm no car audio guy so I'm somewhat clueless. Anyone else care to input?

BTW, I was thinking of having the install done at Creative Car Audio in Santa Fe Springs as I heard they're quite reputable. Anyone else try this place?

Altogether with equipment you will probably run in that price range, but for install only unless you are going to get crazy with fiberglass and inverted subs sticking out all over the place it should not be too bad.

Shop that I used charged me $575 for box build, amp and sub install and sat radio install into my FX... all equipment and wiring etc. came out to $1400.

Thanks for the heads up... I love your install ShadyJC, very clean and beautiful.

I will have all the equipment. I'm looking for install price only. So with what I explained above, I should figure roughly $500 ~ $1K for install? The picture I posted is what I want done with the 2 amps + sub in trunk. Nothing really fancy. Just a simple, clean look.

If you get all the glowing $hit and 3 useless monitors in the trunk like Pimp My Ride then it would be very expensive lol.

when do you think you'll have this done? i'm having the hardest time right now trying to figure out which HU to buy. i would get the kenwood 7015, but i think it would be harder to see than a flip-out since it's a smaller screen and lower on the dash.

Thanks, I'm really happy with how it came out... if you Z guys ever get together with us FX guys you can check it out.

If you budget $500-$1K for install you will have some very nice work done... do you have a place you trust to do the install? I'd recommend the shop I used but you are kind of far, I/they are in the SGV.

YOu might want to PM jimrhit on these boards. He has done quite a few custom installs on his and other cars...not to mention a truck for the SEMA show last year. He designs speakers for Pioneer for a living and if he is as good at that as he is at making custom enclosures then Pioneer should be coming up real soon here. Anyways he is very reasonable and does quality work including fiber glass or any of that other stuff.

I plan on taking my Z to Creative Car Audio as I've heard only good things about them. Or, as Miaplaya suggested, board member JimRhit.

Ryan at Creative Car Auido and Motorsport is the best. Hes very reasonable and can do extensive to the easy installs at a fair price.

They also do motorwork, supension, and everything else under the sun. They have one of the sickest supra's in CA.

Heres a pic of my install its extensive but the price was not bad at all.

Hey Red6, that is really beautiful.... Can you PM me how much that ended up costing you? I'm not looking for work that extensive, but it would really help if I had an overall idea on what I should be looking at when I get my system installed, and if I ever decide to get 'fancy' =)

New guy coming through, proud owner of 3 week old base 350z, so I have alot of money, time and effort ahead of me. Any ways, I am looking into hooking up a system myself, do you have a phone number for creative car audio, I'm in the LBC, so not to far. Stupid question but how do you pm (Personal Message?). Anyways, Red6, your system looks very impressive, could you give me an breakdown on cost for your installation. I would like to go moderately "fancy" if that makes sense, i still would like a little trunk space so I can fit beer and the wifey, you know what I mean! I already have my head unit on order from ebay. Any place else you guys recommend when buying car audio to get a decent deal? I like ebay, but I am kind of weary about dropping alot of dough without using ebay!
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!
