Sorry to hear bout your predicament Dan.
I don't know if you ever mentioned it, but what happened to your leg?
(if you don't mind me asking of course)

I dislocated my right knee not too long ago, and I was on crutches, unable to apply any body weight for weeks. I almost know how you feel.

I had to drive to campus, roll out of the car then wobble to classes that were like miles apart.
If I wasn't so busy with finals and graduating this month, I'd help you out with a coat of wax. I've been neglecting my baby too.

Get well soon, I'll let you know if I find any reputable detail places in SD.

thanks, and sorry to hear about your knee. has it healed yet?

my leg,
i used to ride a 2003 yamaha R6. last year, march 29th 2004, a kid ran a red light and hit me. between the impact with the car and flipping, i think it was 200 yrds, down the road, i ended up with a broken right femor, right hip, and right hand.
the brake in my femor was very bad, the first surgeon worked on my leg for about 9 hours and put a plate, 10 screws and 2 rods in it.
it ended up healing at an angle making my right leg go off to the right, making my weight distribution switch to the outside of my right knee. this would cause alot off problems including arthritis and a severe limp.
so my options were to live with a really messed up leg or rebrake it in hopes to straightin it.
i chose to try and fix it. on march 22 of this year, my right femor was cut in half, pulled apart, filled with a bone graft from my hip, and replated back together.
so that's where i am now, working on range of motion and waiting to see if the second, actually third, surgery worked.

Good Luck! Does your surgeon have you in an external bone stimulator?. If not, you may want to ask him about one called Exogen. I use it on all of my tough to heal fractures and on patients who I've done surgeries like the one you had. Also, if you are a smoker, I STRONGLY encourage you to quit. Your chances of healing this bone are GREATLY diminished if you smoke.

thanks for the advise on the bone stimulator Bonz, i'll ask my doctor on the 9th. i saw him a couple weeks ago though, and the bone was healing pretty good. i've just been eating right and taking vitamins/minerals, plus i'm very young.

Holy Jeesuz,

That sounds extreme man, It's fortunate you're ok.

In grade school, I had a friend who was hit by a car while he was running across the street (dumbass). He flew pretty far but only managed to ONLY bruise his leg and femur. His leg destroyed the front end of a restored late 60's mustang.

You must have been hit damn hard for that bone to break.

It's been a year since I dislocated my knee, but it still feels sketchy when I run. Might have to go to the doctor to see if its MCL/ACL related. Time to go under the knife.

i used to work at a normal car wash, and if you asked for a brushless hand was we would do it. cost a little more but we did it. just make shure you tell them no brushes and to keep from scraching it. so people are very lazy and dont care
