Exclamation Who would be down to have a HUGE CRUISE?

Hey guys,

I remember seeing the pics from the SB cruise and I was just ... I think it would be fun to take a cruise down South maybe a bit north of SD (Oceanside or Encinitas?) and meet all of the fellow my350z'ers from the San Diego area. I am open to suggestions and would love input from everyone. A bit of canyon running wouldn't hurt either. I am shooting for November 19th or November 26th, which are both Saturday.

Also, can anyone step up to the plate and be my P.R. rep? I need someone to help me out at these meets sometimes

Rick

I'm down for a cruise .. SD people chime in .. we can set up a huge meet! We can meet at a location near the LA/OC county area .. cruise down to SD meet up with everyone else .. grab something to eat .. and just chill .. let's label this meet "The SoCal meet" .. Get all of SoCali participating in this!

any SD heads know of a big open parking lot where we can all gather? This can be one of the biggest meets in SoCali! LETS DO IT!!

I'm down for the 19th too! A nice cruise with a gigantic caravan would be real fun.

We should have a cruise over the Ortega highway. I've actually been looking at some maps lately, and I have a good idea for a 200-300 mile cruise throughout the San Diego County. Rick if you want the route let me know.

I am not sure if it would be asking a bit much for the LA guys to drive about an hour and a half and then do a 200 mile canyon run However, I am open to suggestions

Well I'm just spit balling but what about meeting in the same huge parking lot that we did for the Mossy show last year. That Albertsons has a HUGE parking lot. Or on the other side of the freeway there is a BestBuy with tons of parking and several sitdown resteraunts nearby...Both of these locations are in Oceanside BTW.

Ortega .. is not fun unless taken at high speeds .. and if 50ish Z's are going that fast on a 2 lane road .. it can get ugly ..

We might run some people off the cliff if we were to run the canyon like we did on the 405 last Saturday.

I'm interested. A year or two ago, we did a very long run that was basically an all day thing. The 26th is Thankgiving weekend, a lot of people maybe out of town or doing family stuff. You'd be better off with the 19th.

If you could post a route, that would be a good start. Here are some suggestions:

http://www.northcountycruisers.com/idyllwildtrip.html
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/Palomar.htm
http://www.ducatigirl.com/california/sdmap.html
http://www.pashnit.com/motoroads.htm

http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/SanDiegoRoads.htm

Mt. Palomar would be fun. Ortega is very dangerous for a group of Zs, as bad or worse that Angeles Crest because of high speeds.

The RED ROBINS met was cool but we should of taken a cruise to the beach I went up there right after the WOW center and there was a ton of parking on the beach.

Could of been sweet

Originally I wanted to go along the beach for a longer cruise but people were scared so we made a last minute change shortening the cruise time a bit

The deepest cruise I have ever been on was the one from Torrance to Valencia, boasting about 17-19 Zs on a single lane on the north bound 405. About 4-5 Zs were ahead for several minutes while we waited for the rest of the pack stucked on a red light waiting to hop on the freeway. It was already tough w/ "only" 17-19 cars.

I thought this cruise was tight. But I can't help ponder about 50+ Zs & Gs on a single lane on the freeway; if at all possible. Then we can have someone in another car video tape it.

Pulling off a huge caravan in the tune of 25-30+ requires some protocol, planning, and everyone's cooperation.

I see two options: (feel free to amend it or add yours)

1. Coordinated plan. OR
2. Hire CHP to traffic us all in the freeway at the same time.

The biggest cruise I did was when I had my 3.5 altima and we did a vegas run. We had close to 45 cars on the 15 it looked sick and we cruised the strip and Red rock canyon. I can honestly say that Vegas run was the ish...
