Default High Performance Driving Course 3-22/23

Thanks to my wife and her great Christmas gift I'll be taking a two day High Performance Driving Course at Danny McKeever's Fast Lane school at Willow Springs on the weekend of March 22/23. I talked with Danny this afternoon and he thought there might be a few more openings for that weekend. Anyone interested in joining me? Their website is:

Wow, awesome gift! You got the gears in my head spinnin' Can anyone comment on whether $1400 for two days is reasonable for racing school? Thanks!

I believe Skip Barber is 3K for 3 days.

I think RaceBoy suggested Jim Hart racing school for beginners... which is probably what I'm going to do since it's in Ventura and it's affordable.

Congrats on the great gift.

I'm gonna start off with their car and after I feel comfortable with the procedures I'll switch to mine

unless you want to get serious with racing, those school are a bit too expensive for my blood (but you can get SCCA/NASA licensed..) imho for two track sessions with Open-Track.com at $150 a pop. you can get an instructor to go with you to help learn how to drive YOUR car and not a celica or some other car thats not what you will be driving in most of the time anyway... its fun, SAFE, and something you should do anyway for any car enthusiast.

some local SOLO2 events even have two day driving schools for around $75 a pop. just a suggestion.

Remember...this course is a gift...there may be better and cheaper but the fact that my wife remembered that I had mentioned I wanted to take a driving course is what really matters to me...I also mentioned in a previous post that I will be learning technique in the Celica and then applying it in my Z

Never been to Willow Springs..Susie & I will probably take a ride out there before the weekend of the course 3-22/23. The only time I've ever been on a racecourse was in Milwaukee for the 95th anniversary of Harley Davidson...Susie carried the HOG Chapter flag on the back of the bike during the opening ceremonies...when I entered the track I was so excited I hit the throttle and she almost flew off the back with the 3'X5' flag

You're a damn lucky guy. I always wanted to go to one of those schools, I think it'd help tremendously with daily driving.

I hope you got your wife something nice too!

Last time I was out at Willow Springs was about 6+ years ago when my wife was working a shoot for a MOTW with a bike racing story. All I remember was dusty and muddy after the shoot :-\
